The only way this will end is if we all stand up and demand better whether it's our child or our neighbor. STL and KC are certainly not the most racist towns in the US yet we continue to be apologists about this rage. If you are mad about a stereotype then do anything but play into the stereotype. Stealing a pair of sneakers in a slain teen's name? That's not acceptable in a community where people respect themselves.

ReplyDeleteConcerning the eruption of overt violence by black people in Ferguson, MO, (looting, arson, physical violence) we attempted to contact a couple of those who had previously felt the need to speak out publicly in regards to the Trayvon Martin case in Florida and the Donald Sterling case in Los Angeles, CA.
ReplyDeleteCongressman Cleaver: Although you represent part of Missouri, at the time of the Trayvon Martin case, you somehow felt the urge to lash out with racial comments and even went so far as to wear a hoodie! What say you about those black residents who were looting stores, burning businesses, assaulting innocents, and inciting violence against law enforcement? Is that what you call "civility"?
Reply: The Congressman is currently unavailable, as he's recuperating from recently being spat upon. Furthermore, as the incident in question took place outside the 5th District, the Congressman will have no comment.
Gwen Grant, KC Urban League: Although you represent KCMO, at the time of the Donald Sterling--LA Clippers controversy, you publicly spoke out very harshly and very accusingly about a situation which you had no direct knowledge of------what say you about the violent, dangerous, unlawful actions of those black residents looting, burning, and assaulting in Ferguson, Missouri?
Reply: Gwen Grant is currently in a meeting, but sends her customary response that all evil originates from the Republican Party, and if groups like hers were given more funding, none of this would have happened.
