After 70 years of buses we realize we have these issues and need more, more, more of something? Follow the money folks....

ReplyDeleteQ. If you do not own a car one should
1. Find a job close to where you live.
2. Move close to where your job is.
3. Both
4. Buy a car
5. All of the above
Uhhhh......ummmmmmm.
DeleteDuh, 4:30. We've had 70 years of buses and 70 years of residential and job expansion all over the area. We have more area to cover, and more people to serve, so, like, yeah, we need more buses.
ReplyDelete70 years of taxpayer subsidized residential and job expansion...
ReplyDeleteThis all sounds like a big deal until you get to the part about regional funding. And that will stop it cold.
ReplyDeleteOther elected officials throughout the metro just watched the arrogance, incompetence, and orgy of wasted spending that just took place in KCMO to try to save Sly's butt in his streetcar fantasy.
NO ONE is going to be a part of anything like that.
Orgy if wasted spending and incompetence is a perfect description of Johnson county government.
ReplyDeleteThere has been a single thing built there without historic levels of corporate welfare and taxpayer handouts in he history of the county.
Just ring after ring of failed subsidized retail and increasing blight.
Joco needs kcmo, not vice versa. There's a reason there's no suburbs around Salina or Joplin
Looks like the Kansas City Star finally figured out that "Some don’t want to spend more on buses or streetcars." I guess that 60% NO VOTE might have given them a clue.
ReplyDeleteOf course they like the arrogant asses they is --will keep writing about Streetcars and light rail hoping that someone will read the "WE need streetcars" crap and believe it.
I wouldn't be so quick to interpret the vote against the poorly conceived streetcar plan as a vote against buses as well.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't, although Mensa boy is using it as an excuse not to implement the Prospect MAX.
