KMBC: Ex-KC councilwoman says trip changed her impression of Ferguson
Sharon Sanders Brooks said she left for Ferguson with one impression and came back with another.
"It was a phenomenal experience at all the sites yesterday," she said. "At the rally, there were people of all ages, all races."
She said she talked to people who came from all over the world.
Sanders Brooks said everything about her time in Ferguson was peaceful.
"There was no violence. It was a spirit of protest and those seeking justice, but you have to remember. It's larger than Michael Brown. They're talking about police brutality and the lack of justice, not in just this case, but in cases nationwide," she said.
