After winning a pricey contract from the hapless Kansas City Chiefs front office it has been all down hill for wide receiver Dwayne Bowe.
ESPN notes that he had his "worst statistical full season of his career" last year and we kinda guessed that the guy lost his killer instinct when he decided to stay with KC instead of taking his game to a bigger, better town for far more money.
It seems that the only thing he has excelled at is beating weed charges . . .
Here's the damage that tells the story even better because local media is mostly controlled by pro-sports and Price Chopper adverts . . .

He recognized that his "opponent" on the other side of the negotiating table had a fundamental weakness (in the form of no real talent and the PR nightmare it was creating), knew that they needed him to help solve the problem, and exploited the situation to get maximum $$ for his talent level without the pressure to perform that we would have had someplace else that would have come with a shorter contract. Now that the veil is coming down and everyone is beginning to realize he's not the long-term talent he was billed as, he's still collecting the money and I'm sure has a bright future as the partial owner of a car dealership.
ReplyDeleteThe Chiefs have little chance of doing well this season. They play a much tougher group of adversaries, have no offensive line, no receivers other than Bowe and the defense could be the NFL's worst.
ReplyDeleteBowe will make a very nice payday and hey he is already entering the latter part of his receiving career. He has to now think about his financial future. Playing here is easier than going somewhere else for him.
Bowe won. The Chiefs are far from being a contender as usual.
