CELEBRATE THE RETURN OF KANSAS CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS TO MEDIOCRITY!!!

Playing just a bit of ketchup here in our post-election malaise . . . Still, this tidbit might seem worth mentioning . . .

Fox4: KCMO School District granted provisional accreditation

KCUR: "For the first time in two years, the Kansas City Public Schools can say they're accredited. The Missouri State Board of Education voted unanimously Wednesday afternoon to grant the district provisional accreditation after what the board described as two years of improvement."

Now, when the district isn't spending money on football there are programs like Debate KC that actually deserve a nod BUUUUUUT for the most part this move is simply to kill more painful school transfer talk.

Today, Kansas City residents are simply asked to believe that this is a step forward for the KCPS . . . After so many steps back.

More in a bit . . .

  2. Congratulations KCPS, you partially educate the kids with the misfortune of attending school in your district.

Credit the fear and loathing amongst the suburban crowd rather than any progress made by the district.

  8. @5:03 The rape was your fault. That sound absurd I imagine. Two animals, one of the feminine gender acting as lookout, committed the rape. I guess it seems fair to punish 16,000 for the acts of two.

  9. Parents of KCMSD pupils (not scholars) - demand adherence to high standards from your child(den), and demand that the KCMSD hold your child(den) to the same. It is the complete lack of objective, measurable standards that got this district where it is, and it will only be the complete enforcement of objective, measurable standards that will make it a reputable institution.
