An upcoming (low turnout) election is moving closer and Crystal Williams UPDATED her old and busted website to mark the event.

Never mind that she has yet to remove her FAILED MO SENATE RUN WEBSITE from the Internets . . .

Let's focus on her justifications of a mostly disappointing tenure . . .

Keeping Local Government Transparent

Sponsored and passed an ordinance making the budget process more transparent, opening up more parts of county finance to public oversight.

WRONG. That was really an effort by the County Exec. which was mostly PR.

Worked with county officials to stop a special interest tax loophole at the state-level that would have cost the county $10 million in lost revenue as Chair of the Intergovernmental Committee.

ALL IN THEORY.

Promoting Opportunity and Access

Sponsored and passed a law prohibiting predatory lendors, like payday loan companies, from clustering in specific areas and driving down property values.

WHAT'S THE NUMBER ON THAT LEGISLATION CRYSTAL??? It's really hared to find on the county's website.

Sponsored and passed legislation strengthening LGBT anti-discrimination provisions applied to county parks and housing.

Feel Good Resolution with no binding impact.

Working with fellow Legislators to develop an actual Minority & Women’s Business Enterprise structure to ensure fairness in Jackson County.

No quantifiable data on that one either.

Supporting the ongoing efforts to bring commuter rail to Jackson County; voted to appropriate funds for rail planning and recreation trails.

VAPOR WARE!!! This project has yet to materialize.

Working for All of Jackson County

Passed legislation that strengthens anti-discrimination measures in county government practices.

Another resolution not an ordinance with any binding legal power.

Worked with fellow legislators and the County Executive to balance the county budget.

She's only been on finance for a few weeks.

Promoted anti-drug initiatives and transportation funding in our communities.

So did TKC.

Passed budget modifications that make the fiscal process more transparent.

Again, that's probably just a yes vote on a bill that somebody else wrote and sponsored.

WHAT CRYSTAL DOESN'T MENTION IN ANY OF THIS IS THAT SHE SPONSORED ONLY A TINY BIT OF LEGISLATION DURING HER TENURE AND MOST OF IT HAD VERY LITTLE IMPACT ON HOW THE COUNTY DOES BUSINESS!!!

Crystal is better know for . . .

- Pushing the Greater KC Women's Political Caucus Agenda in just about every campaign meeting.

- Hanging out @ Cafe Trio.

- Her new haircut.

Still, the new website is nice but not very representative of anything that Crystal has accomplished which is . . . ????
