In fairness, these fellas are the least of all local worries because they're EXCELLENT CAPITALISTS even if they've been dicking around with Kansas City politics just a tad too much as of late. Sure, they're entitled to rig their tax subsidies just like everybody other local biz but developing a slate of candidates and putting on a City Council election school is pushing it and more than a bit out of bounds for this international company.
KANSAS CITY GIRL POWER POLITICS
So many local politics fall prey to a tragic Kansas City philosophy that stresses identity politics over substance but it's only local political ladies who rarely get called out for the bias and inequity behind the tragic veil of "Girl power" . . . Also, somebody needs to tell these broads that pantsuits are no longer in style.
COWTOWN IMMIGRANT HATERS
The war is over and DIVERSITY won . . . Also, Republicans will never see the White House again if they alienate every Latino in the nation. Furthermore, KCMO is basically a sanctuary city so other than pointless pay cable or Internets debate . . . From a policy standpoint . . . White people hating on immigrants (undocumented or otherwise) is a waste of time and an affront to our local Democracy.
KANSAS CITY VOTER APATHY
Last election KCMO voter turnout dipped below double digits. Cynical d-bags might think this makes individual votes count more but the price of overall voter disengagement has been a tragic Kansas City political scene were the worst elected officials seem to rise to positions of prominence . . . Russ Johnson, we're all looking at you.
Anyhoo . . . On the 4th of July it's worth reminding locals that many people died for their voting rights and ignoring that fact has doomed our civic life to the whims of the very worst political elements.

Mayor Sly and Mayor Pro Tem Cindy Circo have worked to facilitate shady streetcar elections, they have betrayed old alliances, served corporate donors instead of constituents and confused the public with charisma, sexy legs and dance moves in order to get their way amid a tragic "WIN AT ALL COSTS" style of bargaining/bullying. Worst of all, they keep on raising taxes and the local debt burden. More than any other two people in town on this 4th of July Mayor Sly and Cindy Circo represent a clear and present danger to Kansas City Democracy.

If the Democrats alienate every white person in America they wont ever see the White House gain. You somehow seem to iterate that is the Republicans don't do what you expect then Latinos won't vote Republican and that is just not close to correct. Neither can you assume that the Republicans are a white peoples party given they have a better record of diversity than the Democrats. I wouldn't start counting my chickens before they hatch. The Republicans have great Latino leaders including Cruze (hated by many Democrats) and the current generation of the Bush family is overwhelmingly Hispanic. I would not dare discount the political power, charisma or electability of young George P. All the Democrats have to do to loose is keep recycling difficult old farts, with those antiquated, new age, leftist ideals like Pilosi, Reid, Hilbilery, Feinstein and Kerry they will be the minority party very soon. Latinos are not stupid. They and want modern innovative thinkers in positions of political leadership. Certainly immigration is an issue, but side by side on other matters there is not lot of distance between Latinos and the rest of the population on relevant issues. If the Democrats do not immediately start allowing some of the fresh young talent to take center stage they are going to die a painful death in 2016.
