The local homicide count is down significantly this year.
We're @ 34 vs. 49 murders at this time last year. Never mind that there has been a proposal for a significant change in the way stats are counted this year which probably explains the decline more than anything . . .
But we'll play along for the moment . . .
And now . . .
KANSAS CITY HOPES THE 4TH OF JULY WEEKEND WON'T TURN INTO A BLOOD BATH TO START THE TYPICAL SEASON OF MURDER!!!
It has been cold this year . . . Financial experts blamed the cold for a recent downturn in the economy so it stands to reason that there would be a murder slow down as well.
Nevertheless . . . The TKC Blog Community hopes the trend of a lower murder count continues into this Summer and the 4th of July weekend might be the first real test of how much progress this town has made . . .
Developing . . .
There are two reasons the homicide count is down this year and neither of them have a thing to do with the KCPD. One reason is the long, cold winter we had. Like most of the area, the darkies stayed indoors until the weather cleared up. The second reason is that by chance or design, the shooters are apparently not shooting to kill. I'd be curious to know how the number of non-fatal shootings in 2014 measure up to those of last year.

They could go natural, but then there would be nothing to talk about.
Damn T, it be hard to be a criminal with the price of gas going up make a drive more expensive and bullets too are going up and with Brother Obama fucking up the economy, there are few rich white people to rob. Damn T, it be any harder to be a criminal, I might go straight.
