"At about 8:40 pm, a major incident broke out at Worlds of fun, involving 8 police squad cars including the paddy wagon. Employees report that a group of "teens" attacked a single white rollercoaster rider for confronting them for trying to jump the line. Security ran in from every direction of the park and concerned visitors with small children started heading out the park, scared and disappointed at the illicit scene. Throughout the day, people were very annoyed at the long line before entering the park for a "security weapons check". When asked, an employee of the park commented it was because it was a "holiday weekend". People were instructed to place their belongings in trays while being wanded down with a metal detector. It didn't stop the mobs of unattended "teens" from causing trouble. Similar plaza violators as culprits.
"Wanted to include that the park security blitzkrieged through people screaming at the top of their lungs "move!" pushing confused people of all ages as they were standing around enjoying the park or buying food items.
"My party and I left minutes shortly right as the KCPD rushed into the park."

- If an ADMISSION ONLY amusement park is having problems keeping things safe . . . That says a lot about the challenges that Kansas City faces on local public streets.
- The Kansas City Northland is no longer free from the same kind of challenges that confront Midtown . . . The City is getting smaller and in the era of mass transit, there's no place where suburbanites can hide from the real world.

I and my son have season passes and we are done with that place. Same incident happened to me a few years back where some kids tried to cut in front of me. I am pretty much done with KC, I grew up in Hickman Mills area and we all know what happened there 25 years ago. Now it appears as though the "element" is trying to do it to the northland. If you do not make North KC its own city (With some strict cops like in OPKS) then What happened out south, will occur up north. Then who's gonna feed and support these assholes? This saddens me as someone who used to proudly say I am a liberal. But the black agenda has RUINED Kansas City. It ruined the school district, the parks system, the entertainment districts and I even hear it's ruined the junior college system. Inequality is a bad thing. Racism is a bad thing. I spent roughly 40 years living at 10th & Fuller Ave. Not exactly the "hood" you're referring to, hoodish nevertheless. I also spent 3 years living at 70 th & Jackson, which, by the way is extremely hoodish. However hoodish the area is, the particular micro community was fairly peaceful at the time, from November of 1991-1994, though the wider surrounding area was awful.
Both areas had good and bad elements. I've since moved to Independence near 35th & Crysler and the difference in the quality of living in this area is astounding. Crime is nearly nonexistent here as compared to living on KC's
Eastside. Hope that clears up the mystery for you. I know you were making a point about the hood, which is irreverent to me. I was offended by your "liberal/sodomite" remarks, so I simply countered those with my "religious zealot" remarks. After all, what is good for the goose is good for the gander.

ReplyDeleteOur child attends Lincoln College Prep, a KCPS Blue Ribbon award winning school and is a full IB candidate thank you. Prime example of the false rhetoric promoted by this blog and the media. My child attends that school with children of doctors, lawyers, engineers (like myself) who save thousands of dollars by taking advantage of one of the best high schools in the metro area. Don't believe me, do some research on your own. In two weeks we leave for a trip to Greece, paid for by savings. Outside of my mortgage which is super low thanks to living east of Troost we have zero debt.
