TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY INSIDERS: STOP THE MEMORIAL MADNESS!!! $250K FOR AL RIEDERER TRIBUTE IS TOO MUCH!!!
Today Kansas City seems obsessed with memorials and tributes that are taking quite a bit of cash out of civic coffers and occupying far too much time from politicos who should be more concerned about planning for the future instead of honoring the past.
To wit . . .
KICK-ASS INSIDERS BRAVELY DEMAND A STOP TO THE KANSAS CITY MEMORIAL MADNESS!!!
Yes, the Hyatt Skywalk collapse was a big deal but there are very few people walking around were affected by tragedy given that the faulty structure landed mostly on older folks. By the way, did anybody ever go to jail for that???
I'm sure Leon Jordan was a great leader but if somebody could randomly find more than half a dozen African-American college age students who know who he is . . . We'll turn over ownership of this blog. Cash value of at least $13.50.
It doesn't just stop with tragedies . . . Right now Mayor Sly is working hard to honor Former Mayor Kay and she's doing FANTASTIC. We hear she's pretty much the life of just about every important local civic elite party.
And to top off all of this insanity . . . Here's some important information that Kansas City Insiders are sharing in order to call out our misguided civic memorial agenda.
Check it . . .
RECENTLY, JACKSON COUNTY TRANSFERRED $250K TO BUILD A MEMORIAL FOR FORMER JACKSON COUNTY PROSECUTOR AND POLITICO ALBERT A. RIEDERER!!!
Don't worry . . . We've got documentation to back this up . . .
Take a look at the Albert A. Riederer Community Justice Complex RFP that seems rather ambitious.
It gets worse . . .
Recently, approved by the Legislature:
#18549 A RESOLUTION transferring $250,000.00 within the 2014 Park Fund for the fabrication of a public work of art at the Albert A. Riederer Community Justice Complex.
And anybody working in local politics with even a modicum of shame will find this fact outrageous . . . Still, because we can't believe Dead Tree Media is keeping this secret . . .
WITH SO MANY JACKSON COUNTY JOB CUTS AND RECENT PROPERTY TAX TROUBLE $250K FOR ALBERT RIEDERER TRIBUTE IS NOTHING LESS THAN A SLAP IN THE FACE TO THE VOTING PUBLIC!!!
Insiders are incredulous . . .
"This is really the worst thing I've seen @ the County for a long time. That kind of money for Riederer is simply unprecedented. It's obscene. I'm not saying we shouldn't honor the guy but that's a lot of money for a memorial. What's worse is that we all know that these tributes with taxpayer money are really nothing more than a way for elected officials to win favor with certain groups without really doing anything. That's why Scott Burnett sponsored this thing, so he could win points with the Midtown crowd along with Al's friends and family."
What's even more strange is that Mr. Riederer was a nice man but by no means was he universally beloved.
"The guy looked out for himself just fine. A lot of the work he did benefited his career directly. And with the price tag for this memorial, he's still ripping off the County from beyond the grave."
Damn if I'm still not LOL-ing about that line as I write this . . .
Now, the point of revealing and reporting this COSTLY AND NEEDLESS BIG AL RIEDERER TRIBUTE EXCLUSIVE NEWS is that this cowtown is clearly going overboard with pricey tributes.
More to the point . . .
KANSAS CITY VOTERS NEED TO REALIZE THAT POLITICOS ARE PUSHING EXPENSIVE MEMORIAL HONORS AS A WAY TO WIN FAVOR FROM THE PUBLIC WITHOUT ACCOMPLISHING ANYTHING SUBSTANTIAL!!!
Nobody (except our bad-ass blog community) wants to argue with the warm fuzzies that these overwrought memorials create and so politicos are pushing them instead of doing more significant work and local pundits are either too polite or paid off so they don't call out this insanity either.
Make no mistake, there's a lot to mourn in Kansas City and it starts with screwed up priorities of so many local elected officials who would rather dedicate resources and work for political tribute than accomplish anything meaningful for their constituents.
Developing . . .
Al, you were a good man. But c'mon.
ReplyDeletePHEEEEFUCKINNOMENAL!!!!
ReplyDeleteThey can't breathe without pissin tax dollars away.
and you morons will approve more taxes on Aug 5.
Wow, Tony sure gets pissed when it is a white guy getting honored.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm....
Big Al doesn't really deserve this much attention.
ReplyDeleteBREAKING!!! THE TONY BOTELLO MONUMENT HAS ALREADY BEEN DEDICATED!!!
ReplyDeleteAl, we hardly knew you.
ReplyDelete4:44 FTW!
ReplyDeleteJust slap up one of those stupid looking CK logo's on top of the place for a couple hundred bucks.
ReplyDeleteIMPEACH SANDERS
ReplyDeleteAh an emergency Albert A. Riederer ordinance.
ReplyDeleteSo they are taking $250 grand out of CK's "Budget Surplus"?
ReplyDeleteTony gets all upset when there is something honoring a white guy.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm......
We impeach Scott Burnett his project this is just wrong.
ReplyDeleteWow the madness continues
ReplyDeleteSanders was smart enough to let Scott take the heat. You go Skippy.
ReplyDeleteHow about the millions of dollars Big Al made on the insurance close out ,he should pay for this not the taxpayers.
ReplyDeleteWhere is Crystal and her Budget In this.
ReplyDeleteThe Money is there for this waste but for the African American Community, Scott is quoted. We will have to see if we have the money.
ReplyDeleteAll future debt guaranteed by the emergency taxpayer bag holders.
ReplyDeleteThis is a terrible waste of taxpayer dollars, Albert would be ashamed.
ReplyDeleteJust when you think the County isn't corrupt ,this happens.
ReplyDeletePlease someone run against Scott next time.
ReplyDeleteAnyone who's a real public servant would want this money going to house or feed the homeless, those who have returned to the community after being incarcerated, or to help youth who have been abused--ie--people who truly need help. 250k for public art to honor a politician is total bullshit, and if the guy was such a great public servant, is likely something he wouldn't want or ask for. KC, I'm disgusted. And no one wants to see more ugly KC public art. If anyone had any taste here, then maybe this would be money well spent but it's likely going to be some garish piece of shit given to some local heehaw "artist." What a joke.
ReplyDeleteIf there's anyone who deserves this honor, it's Albert Riederer. Most of the money spent on this type of work is spent on LABOR, so it's going back into the economy. $250K on a project honoring the best public servant KC has ever had is a lot better than billions spent on bullshit like the Toy Train. But oh well--comments here show the typical penny-wise, pound foolish attitude that has wrecked this town.
ReplyDelete5:57 thumbs up
ReplyDeleteThis is, at the very least, a whole lot better than spending money on the wall of 1,000 niggers.
ReplyDeleteHe looks like dr. phil but probably was a lot more interesting
ReplyDeleteI guess if your legacy is about making shitty deals and handing out light sentences on a silver platter then this guy is a hero. As things usually go in KC politics here we are trying to paint a skunk's tail to call him a mink.
ReplyDeleteThumbs Down helping millionaires with hard earned tax dollars is wrong
ReplyDeleteThis stinks.
ReplyDeleteWHO?
ReplyDeleteNutter should have put that 50000 he gave against light rail toward this memorial.
ReplyDeleteTony gets all upset when there is something honoring a white guy.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm......
Obviously not you dumb motherfucker, you've posted it 3 times. stop spamming dumb bitch and TELL SANDERS TO STOP THIS MESS!
DeleteNo accountability in Jackson County and this proves it.
ReplyDeletePhoto proof of the PBear serving loyally his black masters cumming soon.
ReplyDeleteDid Theresa vote for this? She should be ashamed!
ReplyDeleteYou losers actually fell good when you drive the direction of THIS blog?
ReplyDeleteSuckers.
If Kansas City hopes to be a major crime city, then it needs a Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard. It is an outrage given the number of murders in this city per year that he has not been given this honor that so many American cities east of the Mississippi have given him. This is why we did not get the motherfucking convention. Pardon my language, I will put an extra IOU into the collection plate as penance for my profanity.
ReplyDeleteJust another example of the little band of the local "political class" celebrating their own importance on the taxpaters' dime.
ReplyDeleteTheir contempt and arrogance knows no bounds.
So just pay your taxes, shut up, and vote for them or people just like them next time around.
It never changes.
$ 250,000.00...... hmmmmm......the Bear smells
ReplyDeletesome serious GRIFTING about to take place.
6:36 you have this sick gay bear fetish. Get help kiddie lover.
ReplyDeleteGet Mike Sanders out and the other members of the Legislature for using Park Funds in this way. Why aren't they more concerned about using the funds to upgrade the parks. They are really aging can't anyone see it!!!
ReplyDeleteCome on Michele Newman can't you stop them spending the Parks funds in this way? Really, stand up sometime and start being the Park Director.
ReplyDelete9:15 PM how jaw droppin stupid are you?
ReplyDeleteShe is in deeper than Mikey Skippywig Sanders...She is part and parcel and youj ask her to stand up. God I'm dyin here.
She was weaned on corrupt Jaco politics long before Sanders was a twinkle in his dad scrotum.
Sometimes you people embarrass even really stupid people.
And all while his wife sits as Judge in Division One. I didn't know Al but his wife is off the chain. If birds (or in this case turds) flock together, I can just imagine. Let's let sleeping dogs lay. All the memorial nonsense has gone overboard. Everybody wants something named after them these days. What has this guy done for mankind that was so phenomenal? I'm guessing nothing other than people liked him a lot.
ReplyDeleteAl was a pretty good prosector, and all around nice guy...but I guess in a town where everyone is looking to line their pockets and stick their hand in the tax payers, this is no surprise.
ReplyDeleteHow bout a memorial to Harry Stone with a bronse 8 foot tall statue of a gang banger with dreds and pants below his ass stickin a Glock to a KCPD police officer head as the officer has one thumb up his ass and one thumb in his mouth with a bug eyed shocked with his uniform cap topping it off like a cherry.
ReplyDeleteWith a brass plaque that reads "we are still investigating the untimely death of Harry Stone"
oh oh..tony is bustin at the seams...won't be long now he will relapse and put Aloonyzo Dipshittingtons tweets that say absolutely fuggin nothin in here.
ReplyDelete9:49 PM Yes, but does that may him worthy of all the memorial tributes. The answer is clearly "NO". When did being a nice guy get you a memorial park. He worked his way all the way up to the Western District Appellate Court... doesn't make him a God by any stretch. Are we now memorializing people just for the position they held in the community or for actual works done. If we base his appeal on works completed, there's no way we'd be talking about this. If that's the case, name something after Jean Baker, Claire McCaskil and the rest of them. Nobody thinks they are worthy and I don't know why this guy is... Still.
ReplyDeleteAlbert was a great person.
ReplyDeleteScott Burnett, however, is a massive nutcase whose only job is to feather his own nest with county money --he's a massive nutjob. Someone should run against him for the good of Jackson County.
5:21 AM is it your testimomy that Albert was not invovled in the graft at the Stadium?
ReplyDeleteP Bear Hunter arrested in Lenexa gay double murder. Captured at Bazookas with two underage black males who were naked from the waist down.
ReplyDeleteBear Hunter said he worked for the Health Department and was checking the black males for a infestation of crabs.
When ask why P Bear Hunter was naked from the waist down, Bear Hunter stated he was simply measuring the length of the black male snakes before releasing them....from his mouth.
What "artist" stands to take that cash home, and what is his or her connection to Scott Burnett?
