This blog has long documented a great deal of antipathy toward the youngest member of the City Council from his own constituents.
Now . . . Talk of the Bryan Dial candidacy is different . . .
Mr. Dial is one of the most respected young leaders in Kansas City's 3rd District. His Ad Hoc work has come at a time when local homicide rates have started to drop in the urban core for the first time in years and the UMKC graduate already has garnered an IMPRESSIVE list of civic and faith community accomplishments thanks to his nearly constant volunteer service.
TKC REAL TALK and why this is an important upcoming 3rd District battle: Mr. Dial has established himself as a rising star in the 3rd District anti-crime and faith community whereas Councilman Reed has more connections among the Kansas City power elite and senior 3rd District denizens like his mentor Alvin Brooks . . . ReplyDeleteWhichever of these folks win is not going to make any difference at all. The usual suspects will take them aside, just as they have Reed, and explain how things work on the east sie, which is how things have ALWAYS worked on the east side, which is why it's in the condition it is.

At usual, all of this has not a whole lot to do with anything except MONEY.

ReplyDeleteAgree!!! That regect Clinton Adams and his broth er Gwen Grant overuse the word leader because they think they are one. The thing about leaders is they never have to beat people over the head to convince them of their leadership. At 60+ years old, they havent figured that out, and likely they will develop dementia before they become capable of its true meaning.
