  2. You want to get a drink at the Hyatt?

No, it costs an arm and a leg.

  3. On the news that night the reporter said the blood bank needed donors. I drove to 44th and main and there were probably 1,000 people already lined up, all standing in stunned silence. There are many good people in this city, we deserve better from those who govern us.

  4. On this very TV station, Fox4, I tried to do a 5 year anniversary of the collapse...but Hyatt called after trying to set up interviews, and they convinced the ND Mike McDonald it was a non-story.

Stupid man---rolling over for potential advertisers. Thats when it was apparent WDAF TV was a whore for advertisers.

KAKE TV in Wichita didn't do that when Investigator Charles Duncan followed the local health deparmtent around to do an expose on dirty restaurant inspections that created a public coding system to be posted on all Wichita restaurants. Hopping mad, the Ks Restaurant Association boycotted KAKE for TEN YEARS! But GM Martin Umansky who ran KAKE then, decided journalism was more important than sales extortion.

Just know that TV stations don't usually investigate their advertisers, or their sources. Most car dealerships, grocery and drug stores, police and fire depts get a pass too from the TV investigators.

ALways know this when you watch the NEWS. Business comes first, journalistic excellence, not so much.
