DAMN IT ALL TO HELL!!!
I've been waiting for this $49.95 tablet that I ordered from
Let's sift through this together . . .
Fun fact . . . These direct mail adverts cost about $20K a pop (minimum) and they say that most voters only glance at the message on the way to toss it into the garbage.
Here we go . . .
The toy train offers this quiz and shameful deception that voting for the streetcar will decrease taxes . . . Fact check: It won't . . .
Like all skeevy ads . . . The Streetcar promises something for nothing . . .
More streetcar mail . . . This one is a bit more honest . . .
Actually, instead of lying about taxes, this one simply offers the benefits of voting yes and the incorporation of the toy train into other transit systems . . . For better or worse, that's the plan . . .
And now the public safety tax attempts to get reader attention with this ambo-siren soft focus cover . . .
A few facts about recent Kansas City cutbacks to the KCFD should put things in perspective . . . But the only thing I could think about was the hottie blonde paramedic taking care of me . . .
And for now, that's all of the propaganda that has come to the doorstop of Kansas City voters advertising in what most expect will be another LOW VOTER TURNOUT election.
Developing . . .
KC politics = landfill roughage.
ReplyDeleteThey are not lying about no tax increase in the one mailer (if it was sent ONLY to voters in the existing TDD) because they will not pay any more. The biggest lie is that the streetcar tax pays for the MAX line on Prospect. It doesn't. If you have enough courage (and time) to read the entire ballot language in Question A, you will find in paragraph 2 that it specifically will NOT pay for BRT, and even more specifically, on Prospect. Amendment 7 (the state transportation tax) will pay for the MAX line, regardless of the outcome on Question A.
ReplyDeleteLOL....what goes around Tony. Of all people to be bitching about "unsolicited bulk email".
ReplyDeleteTucson is smarter then us. At least they are charging a fee for people to ride the toy train into insolvency.
ReplyDeleteThis is way too much money that will serve so few and once it fails and we are saddled with generations of debt we will be the laughing stock. No street car project has ever paid for itself, EVER!
ReplyDeleteBlah blah blah playing catch up my ass.
ReplyDeleteMany US cities of the rust belt and heartland lack the investment of coastal contemporaries, but have in turn been spared the rapid displacement of hipster economics. These slow-changing cities have a chance to make better choices - choices that value the lives of people and quality over the idiotic profit driven aesthetics of place.
How do we get those deals like downtown streetcar supporters where we can pay 125.00 a year on our homes? I'm paying eight times as much on a small single family home as most of these transit freaks. And my house is worth half! Think I'm kidding?
ReplyDeleteLook it up!
Property taxes I'm talking about.
ReplyDeleteThe part about Amendment 7 funding the Prospect MAX is really interesting because that was their big investment east of Troost that was supposed to lock in votes in 3rd & 5th district. Now it's irrelevant to question A.
ReplyDeleteRegarding the "same taxes, more transit," mailer, I think everyone outside of the downtown TDD should take notice of that. They already voted to increase their taxes, but now they get a second vote to increase yours; meanwhile, many in kc don't get to vote at all.
The worst part; they're not hoping to sneak that little cheat tactic through. They're brazenly advertising it. Anyone who votes for this TDD is smearing shit all over democracy and fair elections.
You want $300 a year property tax on a condo worth $250,000? How much can you contribute to my next campaign?
ReplyDelete5:15 - astute observation, and right on point
ReplyDeleteSo are the paramedics going to ride the Toy Train if I have a heart attack ?
ReplyDeleteWaking up one morning and realizing that everything this current KCMO administration is doing is an elaborate fabrication is a life shattering experience. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteQuestion A ☒ endorsed by Mayor S'Lie and City Kclowncil
ReplyDeleteWho'd of thunk it!!
The lying never ends with these monsters does it.
ReplyDeleteHey Dummies,
ReplyDeleteYeah I'm talking to you turnip-truck rubes that voted for the e-tax the last go around... only to see that city hall had plenty of money to waste on frivolous bullshit over the last few years.
Surely you've notice right?
Well, now is your chance to finally redeem yourself and get that Mandingo to stop reaming you over your faux-granite countertops
Do the right thing,
So is Sly, Russ, and Doug going to count the votes and decide who won?
ReplyDelete>> Continue ripping off your tax dollars so we can subsidize developers
ReplyDelete>> Make promises we can't keep when you ask us why are our streets falling apart
>> Pass ordinances for emergency loans to keep the starter train running since people stopped using it one month after it's debut
>> Continue to provide emergency money to maintain Cindy Circo's swimming pool.
ReplyDeleteUnsolicited bulk mail???
ReplyDeleteTrash guys will be busy next pickup day.
ReplyDeleteOh boy da Mayor endorses it!!!!
ReplyDeleteWHAT ABOUT THE MONEY TAKEN FROM THE FIRE TAX AND WHEN TO PAY FOR TIF's DOWNTOWN $1.2 MILLION
ReplyDeleteANOTHER 16.1 MILLION DOLLARS FROM THE NORTHLAND TO PAY FOR THE TOY TRAIN.

ReplyDeleteWhat's the better deal?
Living downtown in a pricey condo and paying one quarter the yearly property tax everyone else pays.
Living somewhere else where you pay five to ten times as much in property taxes per year for a home valued at half of what our pricey lofts and condo's are valued at.
No Tax Hike. Suckers pay our bill.

Stock photos of grammy dying because your taxes were too low to provide necessary services.
ReplyDeleteWell, can't blame 'em... it worked on you turnip truck cornfed rubes the last time with the e-tax.
Sweet Jesus just how fucking stupid are you people?
Ask the developers if they would build the project on a trolley line if the tax abatement and other freebies were not available.
ReplyDeleteWhat a bunch of lying, thieving sobs, these streetcar supporters are. VOTE NO ON ALL the BS

ReplyDeleteBy the way, a large stacks of these Connect KC fliers that Burns & Mac fronted $600K to hand out door to door have turned up in trash bins at Budd Park the last few days. LOL, someone is getting paid to give zero fucks.
ReplyDeletefree train rides is like free trash bags that to will pass
ReplyDeleteThere are even more of these Connect KC flyers in the storm sewers. It is hilarious!!
ReplyDeleteShhh!!!!!!! 9:45 @ 10:02
ReplyDeleteLast time I checked gas prices are less today($3.34) than they were in 2008($4.07)more than five years ago. Another lie by the liar crowd.
ReplyDeleteHow stupid do they think people are?
ReplyDeleteLiving in the 6th district I've not gotten any of the street car stuff but I've lost count of the flyers for the FD tax I've received.
ReplyDeleteWhen, and only when the city government admits to being leaders of a City filled with nobodies, while trying to create a city of something, will only then, when the nobodies who vote for the wanna be somebodies can change some shit here!!
ReplyDeleteI considered not alerting Connect KC and Burns & McDonnell to the fact that they're hiring bums to push their message, but they've got $600K to burn and I'm sure they were aware that a large portion of the people they hired were just gonna take their money and run.
ReplyDeleteYou know, Scott Wagner tried to pass an ordinance creating restrictions on churches from serving food to the homeless because it was creating a litter problem. I wonder if he's now going to consider similar legislation to hold Connect KC and Burns & McDonnell accountable.
