We don't usually do consumer reports around this dump of a blog but a recent local story reminds us that two truck driving is probably the only profession in Kansas City more despised than the disciplines of politics or journalism:

This isn't an uncommon story for a (barely regulated) industry based on expensive ransom for minor infractions . . . In fairness, these guys also help out a great many people when friends and relatives all drive economy cars that couldn't pull toy wagon. More in a bit . . .

ReplyDeleteThe deals between towing businesses and city governments all over the country amount to a mafia extortion operation. it's likely to get increasingly confrontational and violent, now that every Tom, Dick and Harry in (backward) red states is running around with a loaded gun in his pocket. Expect to see legislation allowing tow-truck drivers to carry automatic weapons for their own protection.

ReplyDeleteThere is a KCMO tow ordinance that is supposedly enforced by Regulated Industries department but they rarely do their job.

ReplyDeleteThe tow company operates out of either Parkville or unincorporated Platte County, not Kansas City. Why are they towing cars for KCMO.

ReplyDeleteThe hole Fuck'en city of Kansas City is nothing more then organized crime. The FBI came down on the mafia for doing the same shit Kansas City government is doing. Hell that if the FBI did open an investigation on the corrupt city, I don't think they would have enough agents. The shit that is going on is one reason the state took over KCMO.
