The dangerous and often deadly Summer season is when police and local leaders work the hardest to forge community cooperation in order to curb local crime.

KMBC: Faith-based and community leaders are expected to announce their plans to combat the recent shootings and homicides in the city, such as the Craigslist shootings of last week.

While some politicos are touting a lower murder count so far this year, others are more cautiously hoping that increased community cooperation will continue this trend into the historically deadly late Summer season.
