Just a quick public service note tonight . . .
Kansas City 4th of July tradition has some routine components for more people then we would like to admit . . .
- Eat a LOT of BBQ
- Drink Way Too Much
- Have Fun With Illegal Fireworks
- Shoot guns into the air . . .
Right now, we'd like folks to remember that the last part of this local tradition is REALLY dangerous and something that can result in horrific tragedy.
Remember that not so long ago Kansas City 4th of July celebratory gunfire hit eleven year-old girl Blair Shanahan Lane.
Tonight her mom is still coping the tragedy and encouraging folks to put down their guns this evening . . .
So tonight, we hope locals will party hard but return from the celebration safely . . . And hopefully with all 10 fingers and toes intact.
