Here's a bit of food for thought this morning as the Eater blog not only explains Kansas City burnt ends BBQ history but also notes local news coverage and how our signature local cuisine was crafted with the help of culinary reporting.
The Burnt Ends Of Kansas City: A Guided Tour
Really AMAZING COPY AND PIX in that link that might define local BBQ for awhile or at least determine today's lunch choices.

Get it right douche bag. LC's should top any KC BBQ list.
ReplyDeleteGranted, LC will probably be on the wall asleep, or giving his son a good ear full but he is a KC classic.
The Bear has known LC for 30 years and nothing changes. Same good dude, doing the same thing. BBQ. Nothing fancy, just a hard working, good to the bone, black man trying to make a fair dollar.
Something Killa City pols should try sometime. Yeah, the Bear has had a couple of straight Jack's this morning. But what the hell, it's humper day.
LC's?
ReplyDeleteC'mon that place is a dive. Nowhere near as good as half of those other places.

ReplyDeleteWake up wildman bitch, you hang around here enough to know that there's no sleeping the job!
ReplyDeleteBig T's on Blue Parkway has great burnt ends!!
ReplyDeleteI just wish that this town had a few fat, bullheaded, red-faced GRILLMASTERS wiling to wade into a good BBQ debate.
ReplyDeleteGeorge Tiller is now burnt ends in Hell.
ReplyDeleteWhat sucks about burnt ends in this town is you never get a real serving for your 13.99. Takes balls to stick 8 to 10 little cubes on a plate with fries and call that a dinner.
