The Problem: For over 1 million women and girls, representing over half of the KC region’s population, the future of our County Government is not a game. The amount of mothers living in poverty represents the amount of children living in poverty. A child living in Kansas City has only a 7% chance of moving from the bottom fifth of income to the top fifth in his or her lifetime. Now, families headed by women with children in Jackson County are the most economically vulnerable. For them, politics and government are serious means to help realize the American Dream.

With what passes for local government, you'd think voters would come to their senses before the current cast of clowns bankrupts the city, but it doesn't seem likely.
And the rest of the metro just watches the show, celebrates that they don't live in KCMO, and laughs.
