TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY FIRE GUY SHERWOOD SMITH EARNS AG KOSTER ENDORSEMENT AS JAXCO CAMPAIGN BATTLE HEATS UP!!!

Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster endorsing Sherwood Smith didn't surprise most who realize the strong Democratic Party ties of the Jackson County Legislature Candidate.

However . . .

TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! BEHIND THE SCENES THERE'S AN EPIC BATTLE BREWING BETWEEN CAMPAIGN CAMPS!!!

Moreover . . .

THE SHERWOOD SMITH CAMP SAYS: "FRANK WHITE DENIGRATES SACRIFICE OF PUBLIC SERVANTS!!!"

Mr. Smith's campaign spokesman Brian Noland offers this insight:

Campaign spokesdude Brian Noland sayz:

"White's campaign decided to go negative by denigrating the sacrifice of public servants who put their lives on the line everyday, demeaning their station by saying "we’ll wait to see what the fire guy throws up." The negativity is not working. People who actually care about ending the cycle of violence in Jackson County, people who support the work of first responders, people like Attorney General Chris Koster are standing up for what's right for Jackson County. They are standing up for Sherwood Smith, his public safety experience, and his ideas.

Let me be clear, the difference in this race is pronounced. We will never disrupt the cycle of violence until we break the cycle of poverty. Sherwood has spent his career as a labor advocate fighting tooth and nail for the rights of working Missouri families. As a Jackson County legislator, Sherwood will continue his fight for economic dignity by giving working families a chance to join the middle class again and earn living, dignified wages."

Here's today's endorsement that speaks to this theme:

ATTORNEY GENERAL CHRIS KOSTER ENDORSES SHERWOOD SMITH IN DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY

Missouri’s top cop cites Smith’s public service experience

Kansas City, MO – Today, Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster announced his endorsement of Fire Fighter Captain Sherwood Smith in the Jackson County Legislature, First District At-Large Democratic Primary.

“Sherwood Smith has literally risked his life in the line of duty, earning two Medals of Bravery,” said Attorney General Koster. “As a Fire Fighter Captain, Sherwood knows what it takes to keep our neighborhoods safe by working to prevent the root causes of crime and stopping crimes before they are committed.”

“Sherwood will work to improve drug prevention programs and fund state-of-the-art crime prevention technologies,” noted Koster. “He will focus on improving education and business growth policies in order to prevent violent crime from happening in the first place.”

“I couldn’t be prouder to have earned Attorney General Koster’s endorsement and support for my public safety experience and ideas,” said Smith. “My plan is to work with local law enforcement to enhance programs and services for former felons and at-risk youth. Increasing community policing programs and interrupting the cycle of violence before it starts will work. With partners like Attorney General Koster, we will continue our fight against the mindless menace of violence in Jackson County.”

Smith is one of two Democrats running in the August 5th Jackson County Legislature, First District At-Large. The First District At-Large seat was previously held by Theresa Garza Ruiz, who also endorsed Smith after she decided not to seek reelection. Koster joins Garza Ruiz and a host of other elected officials and community leaders, including U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill, in endorsing Smith. Smith’s full list of supporters may be found online at http://www.sherwoodforjacksoncounty.com/endorsements.

As Jackson County Legislator, Sherwood will fight for economic dignity and ensure that our tax dollars promote local businesses and fair labor practices. Sherwood will promote an economic agenda aimed at helping workers by promoting and attracting long-term jobs with higher wages. Sherwood will do the fiscally smart work of stopping unnecessary corporate tax breaks and handouts, making sure that county incentives work for all of us, not just for some of us. Mr. Tony,
Oh Lordy, Mr. Tony! What a load of crap coming from the mouth of Sherwood Smith.
Mr. Smith was part of the Local 42 creeps who MUSCLED MAST into KCFD.
So sick of hearing that fire fighters are "America's Heroes" Tell that to the rest of Americans including active duty service members.

reciprocity thy name is not Sherwood.

Mr. Tony, I live in small wood bungalow. Should it mysteriously catch fire I say burn on. My insurance is very good and paid on time.

  5. I used to think Chris was a good prosecutor, but it looks like he has fallen to corrupt politics as all of them always do. Wouldn't it be great to some day have politicians with some form of morals and values? It will never happen!

  6. Koster and Claire's endorsement just mean that folks will vote for White.

  10. The Jackson County political carnival rolls on!
Have either of these candidates mentioned any reason at all as to why they're running for office and what they hope to accomplish if they win?
The names may change, but the cluelessness goes on and on.
