Show-Me Missouri Hair Braiding Fight

Plenty of these places in Kansas City as well that could be impacted by this legal fight OR chased to Kansas thanks to more biz over-regulation: "Missouri is one of three states facing federal lawsuits challenging the constitutionality of a requirement that African-style hair braiders to get cosmetology licenses."

  2. Both the law and the above comment are amazingly stupid. Let these people set up their businesses. Let them take part in the American dream.

  3. MO will lose these cases and will end up paying huge attorneys fees. All of this to protect some cosmetology school's turf.

  4. It ALWAYS comes down to race6/17/14, 12:32 PM

There are health and safety requirements that all Barber, Beauty, Nail salons must comply with and follow. The REASON these hair braiders need to meet the same standards is because they are going from one head to another. Sanitary standards and knowledge of how to avoid spreading shit from one client to the next is paramount to the public health......
However, this hair braiding issue is directed to Black businesses who don't feel like they should have to meet the same standards as everyone else.

  5. And it takes thousands of dollars paid to a "cosmetology college" to teach these "sanitary standards"?
