SAVE THE PLAZA STAYS LOSING!!!

Actually, this one has more to do with behind the scenes compromise, different developers and Kansas City protest fatigue among upper middle-class white people . . . On the bright side, this corporate view of Summer flash mobs should be pretty sweet:

KCUR: Kansas City Council Approves Zoning For Plaza Office High-Rise

Deets . . .

"In recent years, plans for a North-Plaza law office high-rise and a luxury hotel were derailed by opposition. But this time there is no business opposition and Dan Cofran of Friends of the Plaza says his group does not want to stop or delay the Block Real Estate project.

"We support it. There was some heartburn over the height of the structure, but our group, on the balance thought that was appropriate under the circumstances," Cofran told the Planning Zoning and Economic Development Committee."

Behind the scenes, notice that your next Mayoral contender now loses his anti-development credentials which should help his case . . .

Right, because Cofran can't piss off too many people, especially the Bloch family which everything at UMKC is named after. It must be who's family is behind the development and not what's right and proper for Kansas City. Too bad.

Agree with the Editor. It's the company name that witched the "Friends Of The Plaza"

Sad to see the plaza blighted like this.

I really expected a more scenic view while dining at Chuy's Mexican and doing upscale H&M shopping... gonna be a real disappointment.

Now on to the "incentives" for the blighted Plaza. Do mobs of black teens qualify as blight?

Either a couple of palooka like goons probably threatened to break his arm or bust his kneecap, or money is now changing hands every where you look.

How much is this one going to cost the taxpayers?

Have to pay off the West Edge fiasco first 4:57.

This is simply a "save the Plaza from the niggers" proposition. While it is certainly a good cause, it'll probably gain little traction because, once again, it's about the fucking niggers.

They had to wait for Ruckus to go on hiatus so Mary O wouldn't have a soap box for this one.

did i see right ...the developement is called the Black Real Estate project.

Very befitting the feral young neegro hordes destroying the shopping district now.

Remember KC...All Negro...All the Time.

Cofran's bank account just got a big deposit.

Suddenly "Friends of the Plaza" developed a sudden love of tall buildings.

Amazing what money will do....

The City continues to have its head up it's ass. Why isn't this being built downtown? The have so screwed up the Plaza, its hardly walkable.

Anonymous said...

Who in their right mind would go to the plaza now?

Anonymous said...

Who's running for Mayor? The guy that just got paid! You heard it here first. Fuckers

Anonymous said...

Block. Not Bloch. Wrong family.

Anonymous said...

Cofran's got to keep the money pipeline open so he can run for mayor. Can't be pissing too many people off in da bidness community.

Everybody goes to the plaza you fear-frozen housebound pussy.

And quit bitching about tall buildings, dipshits. Its a city.

12 stories isn't even very tall.

Friends of the Plaza should move to Poverland Oark if they are scared of city-fied thangs like them thar tall builtins!
