MUST SEE!!! CLAY CHASTAIN STRIKES BACK WITH HIS OWN KANSAS CITY LIGHT RAIL ELECTION BALLOT LANGUAGE!!!

Just now, Clay Chastain offered his reply as Kansas City attempts to torpedo his light rail vote.

This is an important proposal given that even Dead Tree Media has attempted to take this effort seriously for the sake of local Democracy.

ONLY ON TKC . . . READ CLAY CHASTAIN MAKE HIS CASE FOR ALTERNATIVE BALLOT LANGUAGE IN LIGHT OF CITY HALL HOLDING DOWN HIS VOTE WITH TRICKY WORDING!!!

His main argument:

"The City’s proposal would mislead the voters so that they would be unaware that the proposed sales taxes are intended (though not committed) to be used for the construction of a multi-modal transportation system."

Today's statement . . .

"Clay Chastain: "Unlike the city, which submitted unfair deliberately confusing ballot language to the court, our language is reasonable, consistent with the City Charter and Missouri Supreme Court ruling, and effectuates the purpose of the light rail initiative signed by thousands of Kansas City voters."

Now, here's the alternative election proposal . . .

CLAY CHASTAIN BALLOT LANGUAGE

“In order to fund the non-binding plan to construct a multi-modal light rail based regional transit system headquartered at Union Station, shall the City of Kansas City, Missouri impose sales taxes of one-quarter percent for 25 years for the purpose of funding capital improvements and of one-eighth percent for 25 years for the purpose of funding public transportation?”

  5. When only 21% of a city's registered voters are enough to elect the mayor, it's way too late.
