THE TOY TRAIN STREETCAR ETHICS ATTACK HAS BEEN RE-FILED AND REMAINS ON TRACK!!!

Check the deets:

KANSAS CITY TOY TRAIN STREETCAR COMPLAINT PRESSER

On Friday June 20th, The Citizens for Responsible Government (CFRG) filed an official complaint with the Missouri Ethics Commission against: The City of Kansas City, Mo., The City Council of Kansas City MO., and Mayor Sly James.

The complaint alleges Mayor James and the City Council were unethical when they contracted Burns and McDonnell to use taxpayer funds to perform electioneering activities for the upcoming Streetcar / TDD elections.  CFRG believes public funds should not be used to further a political campaign sponsored and being sold to the public by the Mayor and City Council. This is an unethical and possibly illegal use of public funds.

The Missouri Ethics Commission has rejected the complaint as filed.  The reason given is it was filed by a PAC (group) when only “a natural person” can file a complaint.  Dan Coffey, a spokesman for Citizens For Responsible Government said this was a blessing in disguise.  The complaint will be refiled shortly by a natural person and will include new evidence uncovered after the original complaint was filed. This will make our case much stronger going forward.  It seems more and more like the Mayor and some Council members are involved in what appears to be electioneering.

  1. Now we got them. This will stop it in its tracks.

Post a picture of a local female so we can demonstrate our real men persona.

  2. ha ha, a group that doesn't even know how to file an ethics complaint.

  3. Let's do it for Caleb Michael-Flies!6/30/14, 12:05 PM

TKC having such an insignificant effect on local thought towards the streetcar that its supporters feel the need to comment here all day every day.

    Seems odd, doesn't it?

I mean, their time at city hall must be at a huge premium, world changers and earth shakers that they are... wonder why it means so much to them to try and control the dialogue here?

Apparently the pro streetcar crew doesn't understand this basic universal law.

  8. FTA: No federal requirement for door-to-door meetings

Slie James: The work being performed by Kansas City’s Parson & Associates LLC and Scott Hall & Associates will help the city fulfill a federal requirement to incorporate an environmental assessment into the expansion routes so the city is eligible to receive federal funding.

I suspect if they gave Slie lie detector tests about all this stuff the needle would either fly off the machine or the unit would grind to a halt and start belching smoke.

  9. Don't look for any action by the Ethics Commission. The Ethics Commission's job is to support elected officials and harass those who question them.

Cities have always spent large sums campaigning for tax increases with no adverse consequences. The only difference here is they are directly paying people to campaign door to door.

As for the Toy Train, CFRG will probably use a dead stiff as the person, when they file the new complaint. Dumb bastards. They are getting a giant black cock rammed up their asses by Magilla Bow Tie.

  13. Good if City Hall can give taxpayer money for those who want Light Rail [Streetcars] then the same amount can be given to those who don't want higher taxes to fight against this. Show me the money.

One, that comment was made in regard to officiating, and

  20. Using taxpayer money to get votes,no wonder the neighborhoods have nothing.[except Downtown]

  21. What is needed is a court injunction stopping the use of government funds being used during LR campaign.
