Love letter from Dead Tree Media to a local medical industrial complex millionaire: John Bluford’s leadership brought better medical care for the poor in Kansas City . . . And let's not forget that TKC TIPSTERS offered us a look at the guy's $800K+ paycheck when he recently and successfully worked to pass yet another local tax.

Shut the fuck up.
ReplyDeleteAnother ex con hero whose condescension can be cut with the same knife he secures his pound of flesh from hard working folks with.
Maybe a movie of the week is up next.
Yessiree, we gots to pay those niggers just anything they want. Otherwise, it would be racist and shit...
ReplyDeleteYes Bluford was well even over payed but I remember Truman before him and it is vastly improved. I only hope the new CEO will be as good

ReplyDeleteWrong thread.
I've never claimed that Bluford didn't do a good or adequate job at TMC. The criticism has always been that he was GROSSLY overpaid.
ReplyDeleteEven if he had worked 24/7 (which he didn't of course) every year of his employment, he still was GROSSLY overpaid.
Who's more efficient, productive, and cost-effective....one CEO paid a million(+) per year or 5 health care administrators paid 200,000/year each? Bluford is a good example of KC's "good old boys club." Your board makes you a multimillionaire, and in exchange you sit on other boards of directors and make them wealthy too. You steer your big construction projects to the companies that help enrich yourself. There are plenty of examples locally of this type of cronyism, recall the CEO of Children's Mercy (O'Donnell) who also is GROSSLY overpaid and tried to raise our taxes for "translational medical research."
At least the hospital saves lives. How about the $ paid to the chamber, edc and other insider dudes, the new ck tourism guy getting half a mil a year. Good ol' boys indeed.
