A quick statement before decision time for Kansas City transit activist Clay Chastain . . .
Clay Chastain Pre-Trial Statement
For 3-years Kansas City's government has blocked a vote on a valid constitutional light rail initiative (signed by nearly 5,000 citizens) in order to protect the government's streetcar plan from competition.
This comes on the heals of the government's overturning a light rail election in 2006, and restricting a vote on the government's own streetcar plan. This government (led by Mayor James and Councilman Russ Johnson) is killing democracy in Kansas City, and we the people pray Judge Midkiff will reign in Kansas City's oppressive government.

He is right. It's by design.
ReplyDeleteSlie James and Russy "Nebraska Road Rage" Johnson.
ReplyDeleteClay needs to land a job with Polsinelli or Burns and Mac. He'd have a vote in no time and a big juicy contract to boot.
ReplyDeleteHe's just never figured out how the game is played in KCMO.
And neither have most of the residents.
Clay knows how the game is played here don't kid yourself. The game is, unless your in the clique-power structure at birth, by marriage, or installed or invited by the good ol' boys and faux hipster politicans your basically screwed and will never get anywhere in this City.
ReplyDeleteCK works hard to keep people in this fake little bubble Sly and crew put up around them to keep them distracted from all the social and economic crime they are engaging in.
ReplyDeleteSad to see this happen. They haven't wasted one freaking second either since they managed to get rid of their biggest obstacle. Mark Funkhouser.
