TKC TIPSTERS TOLD YOU SO FIRST!!! KANSAS CITY APPROVES TOY TRAIN STREETCAR CASH BEFORE PUBLIC VOTE!!!
AWESOME TKC TIPSTERS broke this news and we talked about it on Tuesday, now it's news fact . . . Credit to The Pitch for picking up this story because every other media outlet is content to look the other way: Kansas City, Missouri, City Council spending money on streetcar expansion before voters approve it
"The Kansas City, Missouri, City Council on Thursday approved two separate contracts with HDR Engineering and Burns & McDonnell, both worth a combined $8 million, for design and engineering work on the expanded streetcar lines that would go to the University of Missouri-Kansas City and eastward along Linwood and Independence."

This council doesn't like to mess around with that pesky old, trite, democracy.
ReplyDeleteBut somehow the city doesn't have the money to keep to pumper trucks up and running? Especially that one next to a nuclear parts facility!
ReplyDeleteLeavenworth really needs to speed up construction of that new special Kansas City wing.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing illegal about buying a councilperson as long as you properly report it.
ReplyDeleteWAAH MAKE MY CITY BETTER
ReplyDeleteWAAH I DON'T WANT TO PAY FOR IT, IT SHOULD BE FREE
WAAH WAAH WAAH
Ed Ford for Mayor of Kansas City!
ReplyDeleteThe Koch Brothers hate mass transit too so now that we know where Tony's coming from we can move on from his ALEC agenda, eh?
ReplyDeleteJust so everyone knows what's driving the agenda at TKC.
Thank God for another light rail post. Can' get enough of these.
ReplyDeleteRight.
Classic Russ. You cry like a baby even when you do get your way.
ReplyDeleteKC is more corrupt than ever. Shame on City Hall.
KC = Detroit
ReplyDeleteMarch 10, 2010 - $50 million TIGER I grant awarded to KC with streetcar planning funds omitted.
ReplyDeleteWhat ever happened to that cash?
That cash, what was left after officials skimmed their cut off the top got blown in the green zone.
ReplyDelete2:24 & 2:30: Nice, Mensa boy. Just because the Kochs don't support your silly streetcar, that means everyone who doesn't support the streetcar supports everything the Kochs stand for.
ReplyDeleteWho took that Mensa test for you?
Votes? Votes? Mensa boy don't need no stinkin' votes.
ReplyDeleteHey 2:30, the street car isn't mass transit. Even the mayor says it's an eco dev program. This will take dollars from mass transit.
ReplyDeleteAnd yet no one complains about a MoDOT Transportation tax that will tax us more and give us less.
ReplyDeleteAt least they seem to be letting us vote on that one before proceeding, 6:19. It's a statewide vote, so Mensa boy isn't involved in gerrymandering that one.
ReplyDeleteSo if all of this is voted down do we get our money back from HDR and Burns&Mac? Do we get a refund?
ReplyDeleteGone,Baby, Gone.
ReplyDeleteKansas City is such a JOKE!!! if you live there I am sure you are not laughing!!!
ReplyDeleteHere is a secret....if you live in KC start holding your city government ACCOUNTABLE!!! After all you are your city and when it fails...so do you!!! Get proactive and demand a difference, otherwise shut the fuck up!!!
