  1. Uber's leader is Travis Kalanick, a 37-year-old sociopath from L.A.

  2. Like all knock-off Napster 2.0 style tech ventures, this is designed to divert money from established industries into his own pockets.

  5. Uber can recruit all the Lyft millenials they want, but please please don't go after any of the hundreds of artisanal coffee barristas or the folks who make those great kale smoothies!
The creative class would be devastated and downtown might even cease being the fantastic place that it has become.
Not that that would cause Sly and the gang to slow down the hundreds of millions that they continue to pour into it.
What's the estimated date of the payoff?

  6. IT takes a little time for market forces to work. Whoever you heard it from probably has George connections!

I'd suggest let competition happen... competition for calls, response times, and drivers!

Moreover if we did have cheaper cab service available for short term runs NOT to the airport, people who really don't need cars will get rid of them.

  7. Holy shit this just proves how stupid people are in the Midwest!!

If you have a car (one that isn't a piece of shit or smells like shit (like your current taxi services offer) and someone wants a ride, you can "underground" market your service and make a ton of money. Fuck the monopoly and fuck the city permits...get a DOT number and the local permits dont mean shit!

Tour buses bring tons of people into KC every year, they drop them off at power and light (and other venues around the city) and pick them back up (totally legal) The reason they can do his is because they have a DOT authority to do so which trumps a bullshit local accordance. Now while a tour bus wont sit at a taxi stand and wait for a person or two to climb aboard, a taxi that has a Dot number can. Get smart, I have made a mint off the loophole! Your welcome! And Bill its not "gypsy" Its just being as smart as you think you are!

  8. I will add however you better have the 1.5 million in liability or you could get your ass in more trouble than a city tickle on your balls with a ordnance violation if something were to go horribly wrong.

You have to have a business license and you MUST have insurance!

  9. And you better DAMN sure have a DOT number, which will cost you some bucks, but it will pay for itself in the end.
