  2. Most all the growth is headed southwest and south where their are decent jobs. CK's tech scene is basically about selling tickets to geeks so they can learn about all the great things no one is going to do for them here.

CK's biggest industry is chasing and keeping people out. Unless they are local engineering and design firms, or out of state developers looking for tax payer subsidy deals.

Good luck getting accepted and in the inner circle of this group of trust fund local clowns.

  4. Cerner campus= more suburban sprawl so Cerner wage Slaves can get to work and back home to JoCo without ever having to engage the City. All paid for by KCMO taxpayers. Thanks Cindy!!!

    1. We live in a democracy, not a dictatorship. Military service isn't beneficial, compulsory, nor does it make anyone a better person.

  9. 1:04 = low information suburban troll. Doesn't know what he's talking about. 50% of metro jobs are in KCMO between the river and the Waldo...a fraction of the metros landmass. And the 2 biggest areas of growth in the metro are 1. Downtown and 2. the suburban areas of Kansas City North.

    Try again troll.

  10. Tessa = nice!

She looks a little more realistic than Jordan. Don't get me wrong, Jordan is heavenly -- but just looks so anatomically incorrect that I wonder how she can actually stand erect. Speaking of erect....never mind.

  11. Hagel would also have a Bronze Star and an Army Commendation Medal for completing a tour and getting a CIB.

Of course, the single largest employer in the metro is one level of government or another and the downtown "reniassance" consists of 16% of the metro's jobs and those in that part of town are overwhelmingly in the public sector.
And now downtown is becoming a residential area as more and more half-empty office buildings are converted to apartments. I guess those folks have to commute to get jobs, if they have them.
Downtown KCMO is certainly better than the adult book stores and dive bars used to make it, but not a whole lot better.
I'm not sure the taxpaying public really is all that enthusiastic about paying forever for a taxpayer-funded amusement park for millenials and hipsters, or how long such a financially unsustainable charade can survive.
Sly's rah rah can keep the balloon aloft only so long.

Perhaps one of the DUMBEST comments ever left on this site!!!!! And that's saying something!

The original comment and Cabinet listing was made in reference to this Administration's hypocrisy when it comes to public service and the President speaking on Memorial Day.

    1. Memorial Day is to honor all dead. The veterans and war mongers have stolen the day when there is already a Veterans Day.

  15. 7:16, nothing is more financially unsustainable than the charade of low-density sprawl, a very recent, and already vanishing marketting ploy, propped up by enormous influxes of taxpayer cash. You can name call and pretend everyone younger than or different than you is a "hipster", but the truth is the pendulum has swung...it swings a little later in behind-the-times burgs like KC, bu it has swung nonetheless. Humans want to live in nice, walkable neighborhoods, they don't want to be tethered to automobiles for mere survival, and they want to interact with and live among other humans, not sheltered behind endless garages in twisted culdesac isolation.

The suburban dream was an unmitigated disaster. It's time is over. Soon even hicks like KC's suburban droids will understand the basic facts of demographic and cultural realignment.
