Take a good look at how an evil highway divides Kansas City . . . Fair play, so far the toy train only lives near the artsy gentrification condos . . . Still, check the link:
Highway 71: Connecting The Metro, Dividing Neighborhoods
The KCUR report is worthwhile but fails to mention that there was a great deal of community input on this plan and that's probably why it was designed so poorly.
For instance . . . The highway stop signs (WTF???) are a direct result of gas station lobbying. Nevertheless, this local dividing line cuts into a part of town, divides neighborhoods and makes the Zoo more accessible . . . Which is good except on free days.
More in a bit . . .
Tony wanna talk about racist? How about that crack in your big fat ass. I can not think of a single ethnic group that would not be offended by it.
ReplyDeleteThink of how many houses and bars that were razed, where negros had murdered one another over the years ..a shit load.
ReplyDeleteYou mean the traffic signals? The highway was built that way so as to NOT divide the neighborhoods, nitwit.
ReplyDeleteTKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! MORE "FACTS" EXTRACTED STRAIGHT OUT OF MY ASS SO QUICKLY THEY STILL SMELL BAD!!!
Wouldn't they always smell bad?
ReplyDeleteLet's have Russ replace the highway with a trolley. The streetcar is suppose to bring economic development to the area it serves. The area around Felony Freeway certainly needs some.
ReplyDeleteThe bozos at cith hall are already on top of eco devo along 71. Having turned $24 million into thin air on the Citadel Plaza scam, they're now spending even more by blowing $34 grand on a consultant who recommended a Target store for the site and now a few hundred thousand more "to prepare the site for development".
ReplyDeleteWhy waste only $24 mil when there's so much more grifting to support?
i avoid 71, it is not racist if you don't see them.
ReplyDeleteHighway 71: Connecting The Metro, Dividing Neighborhoods
ReplyDeleteYeah, it was divided by the same folks who now claim it is racist. Then the City goes and names a street after Cleaver as a reward to THE MAN. Nice.
Highway 71: Cutting down on rioting space.
ReplyDeleteJust what neighborhoods does it divide? Its all niggers on BOTH sides.
ReplyDeleteThe Missouri River divides Kansas and Missouri so that's racist. The neighborhoods along 71 FOUGHT for the stop lights. I've read somewhere the engineers knew it was a terrible idea and put certain things (don't ask me what)into the current design so if years later people thought it was a bad design and wanted to take out the lights it would be easier to do.
ReplyDeleteSo what's worse? Suspected racism or the most dangerous stretch of highway in the city?
ReplyDeleteWe will never overcome racism. Ever. I don't care how many times you shout RACISM. It will not go away. The sooner people begin to accept that, the better off we will be.
ReplyDeleteRip out those traffic lights and install them at Cleavers car wash where they belong.
ReplyDeleteYou mean the "The Leave It To Cleaver I'm Black and Therefore don't have to pay taxes or the loan I agreed to" on the ghetto enhancing car wash tax evasion scheme i own Cleaver. Gee if you want to get away with fraud can you at least be a little more "Clever"?
ReplyDeleteLeaders in the African American community are responsible for the stop signs and crosses alongside the road. Thanks Cleaver.
ReplyDeleteThose stop lights prevent us from getting federal money to keep it up. That should have been I29 or I49.
ReplyDeleteI think trees are racist.
ReplyDeleteHey lets don't go tearing out the highway. Let's tear out every thing on either side of it and prosper from the vast improvement it will have in our city.
ReplyDeleteKC "needs" about half as many highways as it has.
ReplyDeleteUtterly destructive waste.
Typical taxpayer funded suburban sprawl subsidies.
They should rename it homey highway or the nigger express.
