OVERLOOKED BY KANSAS CITY MAINSTREAM MEDIA . . . LET'S CELEBRATE RECENT KANSAS CITY MEXICAN AWARD WINNERS!!!
First and foremost a local attorney stayed winning in much the same way that immigration really is no longer a political priority amid upcoming elections . . .
Attorney Jessica Piedra, member of AILA, was recognized this month by the Government of Mexico with the Premio Ohtli, the highest honor bestowed upon an individual for service to Mexicans living abroad.
Jessica Piedra was recognized for her years of work and success in persuading public universities in Missouri to admit undocumented students, as well as providing legal services in collaboration with the Consulate of Mexico in Kansas City since starting the non-profit law firm Immigration Professionals in 2012.
I can't name them all but on stage I also recognize Cris Medina of Guadalupe Center, City Council Candidate John Fierro, Dos Mundos Publisher Clara Reyes and Westside CAN Center Coordinator Lynda Callon.
Fair play on this post . . . I'm still waiting for my prize given that this blog has more readers and patrons than anybody on that stage despite the fact they do far more important work that (sadly) doesn't include lingerie and bikini models.
