KANSAS CITY'S WORST HOSPITAL?!?!

In the age of Obamacare it's important for Kansas City to consider medical options.

To wit . . .

VOTE OR COMMENT ON KANSAS CITY'S WORST HOSPITAL!!!

A recent paper work foible is putting Research Med Center @ The Top of the list . . .

KSHB: "The dumping of hundreds of patient records into an open-topped dumpster on a windy Monday could lead to millions of dollars in fines for Research Medical Center and Midwest Women?s Healthcare Specialists."

Truman has to be somewhere on the list if only because that's where a great many urban core gunshot victims go to die . . . No implication on the hospital, simply a sad Kansas City coincidence.

We've heard nothing but good things about St. Luke's even during their building boom and despite the fact that their interior is now a Labyrinth maze that might be inescapable for most.

KU Med fought with their nurses this year but overall the Rock Chalk outpost earns high praise . . .

You decide the worst hospital in Kansas City if only because we can now be a bit more picky about our healthcare brought to us by the Prez.

Developing . . .

  1. Truman tops it but only if we're judging by mortality #s.

  2. Don't neglect the JoCo side TKC.

Shawnee Mission Medical Center deserves a dishonorable mention.

They played a big role in paralyzing my trash man in a bad accident.

    1. St Lukes in Lee Summit once they run test on my husband they said he didn't have a blockage in his heart but still said he's in heart failure. The Nurses started being rude because they wanted him to leave. He having numbness and falling still I don't understand how they can still discharge him

  4. This may not have been the hospitals fault, about eight years ago a large amount of patient records were found in a dumpster from a JoCo hospital. Turns out they were released to a lawyer through a subpoena and the lawyer did not dispose of them properly.

I choose KU MED they got money to pay Tom Skeerit but won't raise salary for their nurses. Shame on them.

  8. Yes, Research hasn't been the coveted Research Hospital in a long time. Hate this hospital and would never, ever go there for an emergency. It's just a matter of time before the doors close permanently. Anyway, the population around it has dwindled to nearly nothing. It's a crime haven.

Well I won a malpractice settlement for a sponge and gauze they left in me for 10 months so I'm gonna go out on a limb and say not menorah.

  11. Went to Research ER, ended up having 2 surgeries. Research hospital and staff were awesome. Had 3rd surgery at St Joe which wasn't as good as Research.

  13. If it were a honest poll (which nothing honest happens in this city) ...every hospital in the city gets bad reviews, usually its the hospitals in the areas of the poorest cow town indigents, and the folks who have the most passionate entitlement attitudes. KU bought out all St Lukes best Cardiac docs, yet St Lukes still claims to be the best in the Midwest. Propaganda, propaganda oh Kansas City, it works here thats why they do it.

  17. I'm for a Truth in Health Care billing law...where costs are listed on a menu up front..on the internet.

And itemized bills are sent within days of a discharge... showing the retail charge and the insurance discounts they actually pay.

Giving the media a chance to introduce some real competition into this marketplace. Its the secrecy built into today's system that has caused these runaway costs.

As to the dumpster... that is a HUGE federal violation and there will be hell to pay over that.

  20. Providence medical center.....high infection rates

Down town VA, not the satelite clinics...well what can I say, this is the VA and I don't use it unless it is for something service connected and then I get all aggressive and get them to outsource me because I don't wait. Not the kind of waiting on the news, kansas city doesn't have that kind of problem. Well actually I do wait for a little in the lobby, I go in their office when I am in an bad situation from my Service Connected Disabilities, and then they are forced to treat me and then send me away to a nice little specialist. It also doesn't hurt that I have a background in psychopharm so I know how to act crazy. Believe me, they know how to patch and fix up and send you away, you just have to be a little agressive about it. They will not make you wait to see a VA specialist if you are in the type of deal where they will see you again for the same thing. You have to advocate for yourself in VA care.

Children's mercy...they have the worst nurses in the world, they also get really creative always claiming child abuse...real creative

And yes, KU Med bought the other cancer clinics in Kansas City into NIH accred....that is no lie.

The cancer care there is no different than any other cancer care, it just got a big chunk of cash attached to it so they can say they are the bomb.

It is all advertising. Don't believe the hype about that KU med.

I went to college at KU med, so I know what a mess it is. It isn't that. Research seems okay.

St. Luke's on Barry is a pit and a mess. It is an infection problem unto itself.

St.Lukes downtown has no real problems that I have heard of.I never had any problems at the other st. luke's either.

Yes, shawnee mission medical center is lawsuit waiting to happen.

Olathe medical center is just busy and worn out. They mostly serve country people from the rural areas.

Lee's summit has a good choice in healthcare. The hospital in columbia Mo, is ok, I have never worked there.

OMG, how can I forget the Gem of the north, Centerpointe regional medical centre or whatever the heck it is spelled...a new building doesn't fix the rot from within...no one does well there....too much bizarre there...
