But then my kid has been raised with discipline and taught respect for teachers and others. so he might not need handcuffs like this wild animal did.

If I picked up my My 7 year old in cuffs at school, he would be figurin how to not get his hands in cuffs at school in the future.

I would love to put you sympathizers at the scene with legal responsibility for student and staff safety and deal with this kid refusing to get control of himself.
Now think on that. How would the parents act if the kid was allowed to hurt himself or other kids.
That agency has heavy liability so cuffs it is and of couse Zip ties are ok.

ReplyDeleteSo lets dissect this case a little bit. The kid by his own admission was screaming at the top of his lungs in class which at the very least was disrupting the learning process for others. The teacher could not get him to calm down even though teacher's are highly trained in class management techniques. The teacher called dad it sounds like from the class which tells me he was on speed dial.Security intervened and it was only until half way down the hall did the cuffs go on, I wonder what occurred half way down the hall? I'm sorry, it sounds like the kid was completely out of control, was a danger to himself and others and the school showed great restraint in dealing with this student.
