The Northeast News has just learned that former Kansas City City Councilwoman Judy Swope has passed away this morning after a yearlong battle with cancer. Swope served in the city council from 1991 – 1999, representing the city’s Sixth District.

ReplyDeleteThis is sad news for those of us who are civic minded. Ms. Swope continued to serve our city after she left City Hall. So many simply do not care enough once they leave their city office.
She will be missed.
