Kansas senate majority leader's wife Sarah Bruce gets diversion in DUI case

"Sarah Bruce, wife of Senate Majority Leader Terry Bruce, R-Nickerson, was granted a diversion this week in Reno County District Court in a driving-under-the-influence case.
Under the agreement, court records show, Bruce will pay $1,346 in a fee, fine, court costs and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation laboratory charge. In addition she’ll be assessed the expense of an alcohol evaluation and 8-hour alcohol education information class. She must also attend a DUI impact panel and pay the attendance fee."

"Bruce was arrested in December 2013 in Hutchinson after an accident in which her vehicle hit another vehicle. No one was injured. Court records indicated her blood alcohol level was .159."
And to answer your questions . . . Anybody with even a bit of experience in the courts realizes that this is sentence is a tad light.
