Kansas City Mayor Sly And Bow Tie Bling

First, let's be nice . . . Mayor Sly is front and center promoting the new Kansas City logo turned blue in support of autism awareness.

Now . . . Let's take a quick look at Mayor Sly's priorities as of late: 

- The Toy Train Streetcar has taken most of Mayor Sly's time and legislative effort and when he doesn't get his way, he starts yelling at neighborhood residents i.e. Don't bet on much Brookside support for anything the Mayor champions after a recent community meeting outburst.

- Like it or not, the KCI single-terminal airport scheme is ready for takeoff after the obligatory go-ahead that's coming from the Mayor's committee plus or minus a few conflicting statements.

- Next up . . . The taxpayer subsidized downtown convention hotel is next on the Mayor's to-do list . . . If Mayor Sly wins a second term, the hotel KCMO is pretty much an inevitability according to Insiders.

Back to the photo . . . I'm finally noticing Mayor Sly wears a lot of bling . . . More power to him BUT in much the same way, it's worth noting that the tenure of Mayor Sly James has been defined by his penchant for pricey and shiny taxpayer supported projects.
