Kansas City Jazz: Nobody Wants To Hear It

The KCJazzLark laments the downfall of yet another jazzy local festival due to lack of interest but blamed on local personalities amid a small clique of enthusiasts: Where Did the Audience Go?

  1. Jazz may be great but you have to expose yourself to niggers, to hear it. Not worth the risk.

  2. I am offended by 6:19 ' s comment. I happen to not be all that interested in jazz because I don't find it all that entertaining. But I recognize it as a great art form and am happy that many do enjoy it.

  3. 6:19, while the Bear agrees with you regarding danger...the Bear has found that most negros that listen to "jazz' are non violent. That is not to say it is a solid rule, but....

  4. Give 619 some slavk. He suffers mightily from being a white nigger... a species of human below even cheap white trash. There are few of the around. At 619 one of them surfaced. I hear that one way to get rid of them is to pour salt over their heads :)

  5. Back to the article... Nobody wants to go downtown!

  6. This is 6:19 and just so you know, I could give a fuck less if you are offended. Niggers are offensive to me.

  7. It is because of niggers. They want to have all this shit in the Crossroads area and it's full of what? Yes it's full of niggers who will rob you blind if given a chance.

    ReplyDelete
  8. They didn't go to the Crossroads but still it's downtown and I agree with 7:29 the risk of being killed or mugged is why I don't go and I enjoy good Jazz,

  9. The sad part of the Kaufman Center is that very few go for the music and even then they are the elite rich folks in KC and get special security. Common tiny duplex living people from Olathe who go thinking that going makes them someone special in Kansas City, then write stories making one think they are someone when in fact they are not. The point being it's those people who get robbed and mugged and scream about it and the normal people who can afford it and would enjoy it won't go due to fears of ill doings happening to them. Plus lowlifes are easy to spot and who wants to hang with them? So till writers who can't write and social don't fit ins stop going and trashing up good events others will stay home. I will no longer pay the price for a ticket at Kaufman to have sitting from me two seats away assholes from some where, in gym clothes, I kid you not acting like the duplex/trailer trash living assholes they are. Look at Craig Glazer he thinks he is the greatest swinging dick in Kansas City and that rug wearing asshole can't even dress right. Work out clothes are for shopping at Target and WalMart and maybe even working out in. They are not every day attire or to be worn to social events. Kansas City has no class, the country knows it, and it's why it's became a fly over city. If you lived say eight hundred to a thousand miles from this town and you heard Glazer hawking how he is Mr. Kansas City and all he has done for it and caught some of our media people on the airways then heaven forbid see a copy of the Star would you want to live here?

  11. Not from here4/22/14, 9:01 AM

Jazz is good stuff but as 8:01 points out this town fucks up everything. The so called leaders or the ones who think they have done such wonderful things for this town do more damage than good. I am not from here but was transferred in 11 years ago and wish all the time I could be transferred out. I was born and raised in Carson City and can say KC may at one time been a hot spot but it's a huge dud now. My friends laugh at stuff I show them about this town they can't believe it's that bad here. Not a one has met the so called Man of KC Mr. Glazer and all see him for the ass he is along with his KCC crew. TKC wouldn't work in Carson but it's good I think for KC. The Star has no balls that's for sure and a key element in whats wrong with KC.

  12. Nice comment 9:01 and I agree The Star has no balls. A city this size needs a paper that's about and for the people and not for the power of the corrupt folks in political office. A paper not afraid to go after the truth and only the truth. Don't sugar coat the issue expose the stink of the shit the story is. But paper print is dying and the Star missed the boat long ago to be in the new modern age of media reporting that ends up working for the customer.

I just made an offer on a house in JOCO so fuck it I may be out of this shit hole soon.

  13. Good for you Trucky. Beware. The niggers are taking over JOCO. Olathe is the hood now, north JOCO is solid hood dotted with mexicans. Taxes are ski high. No you are just trading on dog turd for one of a different color. You get credit for making a move though. KC on your address is not good for business.

  14. LOL 9:47 Maybe Trucky is headed to Perfect Village where efforts to keep the people who like living in Olathe out. Hell they won't let Wilson live there and they made Hearne leave after he got a DUI.

    ReplyDelete
  15. My son-in-law lives in Perfect Village and trust me when I say it's fucked up too. But I give them credit, they do have the latest negro deterrents. Nig enters their city space and the cops are all over them. Hmmmmm. KCPD take note.

  18. Most jazz professionals make most of their living playing in Europe. Same with blues people. That's where the enthusiasm and the big appreciative audiences are.

I am offended by 6:24' s comment about being offended by 6:19's comment. I happen to not be all that interested in jazz because you have to expose yourself to niggers to hear it. But I recognize it as a great way for them to kill each other while drunk and am happy that many do enjoy doing just that.

  20. The general public can see the obvious dismal failure of the 18th & Vine Jazz District and associate that with all local Jazz. They can associate the failure of local Jazz with the basic absence of any full-time jazz on local radio.

If you're a Jazz lover and you want it on local radio, you have to listen at specific times or go without. These are all parts of why this art form has become a 'throw-away item' lately. I personally know some local players, and although most of them are great individuals, there's a few that are such assholes, I don't know how they keep working in this town.

Parking is usually lousy at Jazz clubs, and people are getting lazy and they don't want to have to walk two blocks in the hood and pay a stupid high cover charge to hear live music. Jazz without the attitude, expense, and danger is basically free on the internet. It's a sedentary society, and people want the entertainment to 'come to them!' They don't want to fight for it or even pay for it.

In the old days, the bar made money and took some of it and paid the musicians. These days, possibly EVERY bar owner/manager is basically greedy scum, and they expect the live entertainment to pay its own way. "Art form?" They don't g.a.f. about art. They're drunken coke heads, some of them, and greed is their only driving force. Even though they make obscene amounts of profit on liquor markup, they still maintain now that they're "goinh through some hard times and expect performers to haul in big crowds of heavy drinkers.

Things are almost too fucked up to fix, now.

The only way the musicians can make it work for them is sell product off the stage. Hope for a break.

  21. jazz is dead in kc.
Nobody wants to listen to it except the old/seniors who don't
drink and won't spend a dime in the places wherer jazz is played.
Wilson tried to make everyone think he was a "player" in the
biz world by making people think
    he'd buy jardines.
see how that worked out. Another
    wanna be with no money.
Now he writes "dark" articles on
    kcc for hearne about "death"
    "afterlife" "retiring" and other
    very depressing subject. Please
get the dude some anti depressants.
    people can watch Lonnie
at the phoenix on Fridays (excellent show) but that's it.
Jazz is for the old cheap worn
out dull ss collecting crowd who
    want a free ride.
    rip jazz in kc.
