Kansas City Music Venue Coda To Open Under New Ownership

KANSAS CITY, MO – April 15, 2014 – Current Owners Dan Tutko, Ann Tutko and Clint Hoffmeier are announcing the sale of the 1744 Broadway, KCMO location known as, “Coda Bar & Grill”. Saturday, May 3, 2014 will be the last time Dan, Annie and Clint will greet live music patrons as a tandem. Coda began in March of 2009 and became a favorite for many local musicians and frequenters to the Crossroads district.

New owner, William Saunders promises increased support of local music while maintaining all the key aspects that have made Coda successful. This includes keeping the name , many of the popular menu items, the relaxed atmosphere and returning many of the staff. Clint Hoffmeier will take on an expanded role as Vice President and General Manager and play an active part in both the operation of Coda, as well as William’s other company Saunders Street Records, LLC (SSR). SSR is a successful independent record label created in April 2010. The marriage between SSR and Coda will allow both to assist local bands and musical artists of the region in reaching new audiences and success.

Coda will be closed for minor renovations May 5-8, 2014 and will celebrate their grand re-opening on Friday, May 9th from 6PM - 8PM followed by live music at 9PM.

William Saunders is a member of ASCAP, Folk Alliance International, Midwest Music Foundation, and the Recording Academy. Since SSR’s introduction in 2010, he has become known as a producer, singer songwriter, promoter, visual artist and supporter of the local music scene.
