If anything happened to him, Slayden told his friend on April 4, look for the people in the photograph to be responsible, according to court records released Tuesday"
Charges filed in April 6 KC homicide
A 22-year-old Kansas City man has been charged with First Degree Murder in connection with the April 6 shooting and killing of Javonte Slayden in the 4900 block of Agnes in Kansas City, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Deandre Whitley, dob: 1/2/1992, faces Murder 1st Degree and Armed Criminal Action.*
According to court records, Slayden, 18, was found late on April 6, 2014, in the front yard of a residence in the 4900 block of Agnes. He had been shot numerous times. Whitley told police that he walked up to the victim and fired two shots. After the victim fell to the ground, Whitley discharged several more shots at the victim and left the scene.
Prosecutors have requested a bond of $250,000.
