KCTV5 reports this bit of info as it almost happens: Plane headed to KCI drops 26,000 feet in 10 minutes

It didn't "almost crash". The pilot dropped altitude after they lost cabin pressure so that everyone on board would be able to breathe and would not suffocate.
ReplyDeleteThey otherwise landed on time. If the article is correct, they didn't even notify the airport until they had landed (notice there is no mention of them declaring an emergency).
Controlled descent. It's quick but the pilots know what they are doing. They are trained to handle a depressurization event in this manner, so as the poster above mentioned people can "breath".
ReplyDelete26k in 10 mins? Shit. That's nothing. I jumped out of plane and fell 8k in 30 seconds. Now that was something to crap your pants about...
ReplyDeletetrue dat.
ReplyDeleteEven thought Tony is claiming Southwest Airlines almost crashed, don't count on it suing Tony for libel. He is always accurate and without malice.
ReplyDelete7:13 He does get carried away.
ReplyDeleteThis wouldn't have happened if we had just one terminal and a toy train leading to it!
ReplyDeleteI'd say the pilot did a great job landing the plane but Hearne and Glazer would say it was a haters comment.
ReplyDeleteThat kind of crap wouldn't happen if the stews on SW flights weren't joking around.
ReplyDeleteTOday's passengers need to be TOLD not to open the windows at thirty thousand!
If we had a new airport that could have been avoided.
