  1. Here is some interesting info you all might be interested in. Remember the KCPD Internal Affairs Detective who was drunk and crashed her department vehicle while on duty (Josette Young)a few years back? Turns out she is currently on the list for KCPD to be transferred to the Traffic Unit. That means in the future she could be working one of these checkpoints, and arresting drivers for the same thing she got away with. I hope those drivers refuse to take the breathalyzer like she did, seems only fair. How does this bitch still have her job? Oh yeah, she was fucking one of the commanders when it happened. Never mind, move along.

  2. ^ Yep. Oh! And being a black female in that cesspool of affirmative action and politics under the guise of a "police department", I'm sure didn't hurt anything, either ...

WHAT YOU ALLOW IS WHAT WILL CONTINUE, PEOPLE.

  5. Wouldn't going to the traffic unit be punishment enough?

  6. UNCONSTITUTIONAL DUI CHECKPOINT:

    STOP!!
You are guilty until proven innocent.
    Papers please!
    Have you been drinking tonight?
    Any drug use?
Any guns or drugs in the car?
You wouldn't mind if I search your vehicle, right?

Now, I just need a sample of your DNA, and then you'll be on your way.

    Stay OUT of KCMO

  7. Hey 11:28, now that you are done with your comment, maybe you can go get some polish for the cross you assume you are nailed to?

Maybe you can voluntarily surrender all of your supposed legal rights and volunteer to be constantly monitored by your local police, the IRS, your phone service provider, your internet service provider, your bank, your credit card companies, etc. I mean, if you have done nothing wrong, you wouldn't have a problem with that, right?

  9. And we all know that those in who hold power are always the most ethical people. We have nothing to fear from them because they are always honest, above board, compassionate and tolerant of those who disagree with them.

  10. DUI checkpoints....are they about reducing accidents or generating revenue for the law enforcement/judicial system? The police get to pretend that they're being proactive and utilizing their budgetary resources wisely. The court system gets to recruit more people into their endless web of monthly payments for classes, penalties, and fines.

One of the above comments made the excellent point of the KCMO police officer who wrecked their car while driving intoxicated. These incidents happen throughout the metro area every year. Are the offenders fired? License revoked? Sentenced to prison?

Didn't we just have a post yesterday on this blog about Kansas allowing prior DUI convictions to be expunged from your record?

There is a mixed message being broadcast to KCMO. On the one hand, alcohol is promoted heavily and sold at our stadiums, P&L District, etc., yet we expect everyone to be responsible enough to know their limit and stop consuming before they cross the line. Like everyone carries around their own breathalyzer! Oh yeah, and states are legalizing marijuana at the same time that they are conducting these random DUI checkpoints.
