Carlos Mencia & Chris Tucker
It’s not often that comedy clubs can book two monster acts back to back.
This weekend comedy sensation Carlos Mencia will be at Stanford & Sons. Mencia has been appearing regularly at the Treasure Island Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV.
Carlos will go out and sprinkle shows at theaters and a very few top comedy clubs a couple times a year and we were very fortunate to get him to come back to Stanford’s. We started working with Carlos back in the mid-nineties in Westport right when he was taking off. Mencia is best known for replacing Dave Chappelle on Comedy Central with his own series, ‘The Mind of Mencia’. Carlos has appeared in several motion pictures including ‘The Heartbreak Kid’ in which he co-starred with Ben Stiller. He has endless other credits from appearances on late night talk shows to his own comedy specials on HBO and Showtime. If you are a Mencia fan you might have seen his gala performance at the Midland a few years ago.
Currently Mencia has a TV project in the works in which he will go travel from city to city and show you what’s up in that town through the eyes and mind of Carlos Mencia. There will be one HBO special and a live performance with the Latin Kings of Comedy which will star Paul Rodriguez, George Lopez, Gabriel Iglesias and Carlos Mencia.
CHRIS TUCKER, MOVIE AND COMEDY SUPERSTAR!!!! Tucker has picked a handful of clubs mostly in the south to work on his new HBO special. We were honored to be one of those locations. It goes without saying that seeing Chris Tucker, who just a few years ago was among the top paid performers in Hollywood, at an intimate venue is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Tucker, of course, is best known for his smash-hit ‘Rush Hour’ franchise with Jackie Chan. Chris came into prominence when he played the beloved character ‘Smokey’ in the ‘Fridays’ movies. Tucker also co-starred with Bruce Willis in ‘The Fifth Element’. Plans are in place to do both a final ‘Rush Hour’ film and a final ‘Friday’ movie featuring Chris as well as Mike Epps and Ice Cube as well as Katt Williams called ‘Final Friday’.

The booking agents send out notices of who might be available and when or dipshit Glazer contacts them and says hey I want this person and then they see if they can do a deal. He doesn't just out of the blue call these people and bring them to Kansas City in a few weeks. He already knows 90% of the time months in advance who is coming. Here is a good example of one booking agent type business.
