KANSAS CITY BIG TAXPAYER MONEY BI-STATE GOP CONVENTION 2016 PLEDGE!!!

Thanks to an AWESOME KANSAS CITY INSIDER for this photo from the scene . . . And I guess we can all forget about fixing those potholes that threaten to kill cars throughout neighborhoods . . . This is where e-tax money is going . . .

RIGHT NOW MAYOR SLY AND HIS FRIENDS ARE PLEDGING BIG LOCAL GOVERNMENT MONEY TO LURE THE GOP CONVENTION 2016!!!

Here are the deets . . .

Area governments announce contributions to attract Republican convention

"Leaders of Kansas City, the Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kan., Jackson County and Johnson County each pledged a donation of $65,000 to help attract the convention. The $260,000 will be used to help the KC2016 Task Force coordinate efforts as part of the site-selection process, including a visit by RNC advisers late this month."

And here's where we talk about priorities or lack thereof amid a civic culture that is gladly spending hand of fist for pet projects and parties while public safety and infrastructure remain neglected.

  3. Let the recall efforts begin for everyone who endorsed this waste of taxpayer funds.

KC residents do NOT want the convention, because they'll receive NO benefit from it, and may be inconvenienced by it.

This is a contest among cities for bragging rights only....who can offer the most cash and giveaways to attract the "pretty girl"....and it's not really even about the "pretty girl", it's about showing off to the other competitors.

The politicians who chase after this convention are like the short, weak, pimple-faced high school geeks who so desperately want to take the homecoming queen to the dance in an attempt to validate themselves.

  4. Speak for yourself, that's a large amount of visitors packing the hotels, convention centers, restaurants and other attractions. That brings money into the local business community. Though I doubt KC will even get a convention cause they'll likely put it in a harder state for the GOP to win like Nevada.

  5. We could save about $257,000 if we just gave them hotel rooms, comped their meals, and asked them to fly Southwest.

  7. Ain't it sumfin' how suddenly the Democat rats unite to get the Republicans to throw a convention in Kansas City. ...especially since the DNC made it clear early on they wouldn't stop in KC to take a dump.

  13. Would somebody tell City Hall we don't want the convention unless RNC is willing to pay big bucks to the City.
