Yesterday's Downtown Kansas City evacuation was the result of a toy train streetcar hot mess.

Gas leak, building evacuation illustrate challenges of KC streetcar project

Newspaper: "Streetcar construction and utility officials confirmed the gas leak occurred when a contractor for Kansas City Power & Light inadvertently hit an 8-inch gas main Monday morning at Ninth and Main streets. It was part of the utility work needed to make room for the actual laying of streetcar rail this summer."

This might be news to the out of the loop seniors and shut-ins who still read the paper . . .

LAST YEAR TKC TIPSTERS WARNED US THAT THE TOY TRAIN WAS GOING TO CAUSE DANGEROUS DESTRUCTION AND GAS LINE PROBLEMS DOWNTOWN!!!

Again, Downtown biz owners have been told us EXCLUSIVELY that NOBODY REALLY KNOWS what's buried under the streets and gas line, electric, water danger . . . Possibly even a C.H.U.D. could await any unlucky soul.

So we advise everybody to be careful and maybe don't wait under the mistaken notion that Global Prairie and so many amateur urban planners who started this project know what they're doing . . .
