Right now Kansas City stands @ 9 murders this year compared with 19 at this time last year.
There's no use trying to complain about this number. Kansas City homicide totals are down. Now we need to ask what's the secret for the early in the year success.
We can credit hot spot policing or several cooperative efforts betwixt City Hall and the KCPD.

This is a trend that can't be ignored and deserves far more consideration than Dead Tree Media trying to raid police pensions by pushing local control of the police.
Temperate weather has always been a factor in murder rates: sometimes it's just too damned hot or cold to be out pretending to be somebody.
