Here's a quick update on a Jackson County race that we've called since for quite some time . . .
FIREFIGHTER AND POWER BROKER SHERWOOD SMITH ASSURES HIS SUPPORTERS THAT HE'S STAYING IN THE JACKSON COUNTY LEGISLATURE CONTEST AGAINST FRANK WHITE!!!
There was some speculation that Mr. Smith might concede the race given the overwhelming name recognition of the major league athlete and local legend. However, from what we hear, Sherwood Smith is making phone calls, rallying support and hopes to make a contest against the Royals Hall-of-Famer.
While, Sherwood Smith is far more politically connected than Frank White, this morning a KCMO Insider advised us to look at fundraising totals in order to gauge if all of those political connections are willing to put their money where there mouth is to support Sherwood Smith.
Meanwhile . . .
Another Courthouse insider notes . . . "He's got a good shot, a lot of people in Kansas City might not want to put another jock like Fred Arbanas into office . . . Sports heroes are nice but the best bet of Sherwood is to get into many policy debates with Frank White and test his knowledge of the issues facing the Jackson County.

Let the people decide. What happened to the Royals and Frank White? Will that become a deciding factor in the election outcome?
