It's tough to find a teaching moment in the recent Hickman Mills Audit Drama.
Here's what we might have learned:
- Freedom, Inc. makes an easy target but the audit didn't really make much of an issue of the group other than petty accounting issues.
- Hickman Mills is clearly another local school district in decline and no one wants to take responsibility.
- Welcome to the future: Formerly worthwhile suburban schools face the same rate of fail once only endured by the urban core. Don't kid yourself . . . The same thing is happening in deep JoCo.

ReplyDelete5:22 am: the name of the school district is Hickman Mills C-1 (the first consolidated school district). The high school is Ruskin High School. A second high school, called Hickman Mills High School, opened after Ruskin HS. It was closed in 2011, if memory serves right.
ReplyDeleteHickman Mills come across the river to KCK and learn a few things. KCK school districts are now rolling in dough from the state and feds. $350grand+ for our administration fools, $19 mil building, and on and on.

Hickman Mills paid out Fed dollars through Hickman Mills to Urban Summit for sheer foolery.
Urban Summit? Urban League? Freedom Inc? what's the difference? none. All run by the same grifters.
