Rev. Fred Phelps Sr. Reportedly Near Death

Sunday Clergy news presents an interesting moral dilemma . . .

KCTV5: "The Rev. Fred Phelps Sr., who founded a Kansas church that's widely known for its protests at military funerals and anti-gay sentiments, is "on the edge of death," according to Phelps' estranged son."

And here's the twist to watch . . .

Circle Of Life: Will so many who criticized the hate of Phelps clan over their funeral protests and divisive rhetoric avoid the temptation to celebrate the demise of this controversial media personality in much the same way the Westboro Baptist Church desecrated memorial services while falsely claiming a moral high ground???

  2. I guess the answer is NO, most people will never get off their high horse not even for a moment.

  3. Get Glazer on this story, he has the inside scoop on all those dying. Sure he is friends some how with Phelps.

  4. Should we protest at his funeral?

  5. This should be interesting.

  8. It was interesting that he never brought his band of haters to the park around Liberty Memorial, which was a well known crusing site for Gays and curious married guys. I had heard that he stayed away because "Fredricka" used to come to KC and frequent places for anonymous man on man sex like Liberty Memorial.

  9. May be celebrating prematurely. Phelps has lots of followers...unfortunately.

  10. The Westboro scam is a family business and unfortunately it will likely live on. I think his daughter has been running the show for awhile now.

Dear Mr. Tony: If Fred Phelps Sr. really is dying he should be accorded what he did not give others--respect, consideration and dignity in his time of crisis. That is what my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ teaches those of us (including miserable excuses for a Christian like me)who claim to be his followers. Let all who are true Christians follow the example of the Amish after the killing of their children in Pennsylvania and return good for evil. Sincerely and Respectfully, Ernest Evans

  14. God hates Rev. Phelps and is planning an eternal stir-fry starting the day he takes his last hate-filled breath. Burn in hell forever, motherfucker, and your mother too.

  15. Sorry. Ernest. As ye sow so also shall ye reap.

  16. What will the Kansas governor and legislature do without their moral and spiritual leader? How will they know who to hate and discriminate against?

  17. I'm hearing church giggles!

  18. As tempting as it would be to disrespect these people who have shown their asses at so many soldiers' funerals, it would be pointless. They're already miserable and consumed with hate so I wouldn't waste my time and energy trolling trolls.

Dear Anonymous 4:50: While dying on the cross Christ asked God his Father to forgive those who crucified him because "they know not what they do." Fred Phelps is so blinded by hate that he does not know what he is doing--so I am sure My Lord would want his followers to forgive him. Take care and God bless. Sincerely and Respectfully, Ernest Evans

  23. "If the reports of Fred Phelps' declining health are accurate, then his family and friends are certainly saying their good-byes and preparing to mourn his loss," said Sandra Meade, chairwoman of Equality Kansas. "We ask that everyone understand the solemnity of the occasion, and honor the right of his family and friends to remember and mourn his loss in private without interruption or unseemly celebration," Meade said."

What complete, utter, and ironic hypocrisy. I think some radio station should play, "Ding Dong the Witch Is Dead" 24 hours non stop when Fred kicks.

    Mr Tony,
I just put a bottle of wine in the wine cooler. I have some nice savories in mind to nibble with my planned celebratory repast when the blessed event occurs. To Phelps I say "Get thee behind me!"

  26. Phelps was a Democrat, right. I'm so sure he was all about supporting the leader of the Democratic Party, President Barack Obama... Yes sireee, that just makes so much sense...LOL

  27. Democrat civil rights lawyer Fred Phelps ran FOUR times as as a DEMOCRAT:

  30. Here's an unusual thought.
(though I won't be holding my breath)

If Mr. Phelps' care location is made public, or if the time of his funeral is announced, would it be possible for large numbers of LGBT supporters, and general tolerant public, to simply line the street with bowed heads and or lit candles in a silent show of respect for ALL people. As I said, I won't be holding my breath on this one, but it would be quite a public statement for Kansans to show the nation that we don't support hate.
    Call me a dreamer.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Dr. Ernest Evans3/16/14, 9:01 PM

Dear 7:51: Yes, you are a dreamer, but as Robert Kennedy used to say in the 1968 campaign: "Some people look at the tragies in the world and say: Why? I look for good things and say: Why Not?" If what you suggested actually took place it would be the most powerful message against hate since Nelson Mandela, newly elected President of South Africa in 1994, paid a courtesy call on the widow of the white President of South Africa who had imprisoned him for 28 years starting in 1962. Keep dreaming!! Sincerely and Respectfully, Ernest Evans

It might help one of the haters.
