KANSAS CITY CHAT SATURDAY!!!

This morning let's take a look at all of the conversation according to Kansas City opinion makers.

First we start with our favorite show, Ruckus is the gold standard of local left vs. right discourse in Kansas City . . .

And then, the local newsie elite gather to talk over the week . . .

This was a pretty great show with two weeks of hot mess . . .

KMBZ talker Dana Wright stays winning for starting it off with a bold stand against Free Day.

Tell us what you think but then realize that these are the folks responsible for popular opinion.

Developing . . .

Comments

  1. The entire panel of Ruckus danced around the elephant in the room with respect to comments about the Plaza and Zoo. It is hailarious to watch all 4 of them pretend there is no racial aspect to the continual mob violence which takes place because of necrotic African American Hip/Hop culture.

They are (Especially Yale) just squirming in their seats.

  2. Helling, of course, is turning the problems at the zoo and the problems on the Plaza into a gun control issue.

If we take all the guns, there will be peace throughout the land.

    ReplyDelete
  3. This example of mob violence is similar to what a Kansas City TV station calls a "perennial problem" at the upscale shopping district called The Country Club Plaza: For at least four years, large groups of black people have been fighting and destroying property and causing mayhem on a regular basis.

In 2011 newly elected mayor Sly James said he was going to get the problem under control in six months. A few weeks later, his security guards had to push him into the bushes when he was visiting the Plaza and gunfire broke out 50 yards away. Three people were shot.

Soon after, the Kansas City city council created a curfew. It helped some, but not much. The black mob violence continued. Some of it on video.

Earlier this year, Councilman Reed made a discovery: Of the 34 people cited for violating the curfew at The Plaza, all were black.

Reed did not like that. Reed was the youngest person ever elected to the city council when the then-26 year old took his seat in 2011. But he had plenty of training: During college, he completed the Congressional Black Caucus Institute's "Political Education and Leadership Boot Camp." Later, he worked in the resource development office of the Black Caucus and also for the City of Washington, D.C. as a financial analyst.

Councilman Reed was only saying what many people were thinking: There is a big problem centered around black people at The Country Club Plaza.

Some residents says black mob violence is out of control, and has been for a while. Reed says black people are the victims of police prejudice, not the perpetrators of mob violence.

"The data is the data. That's what I'm looking at," Reed said. "We've got to be honest and have an honest conversation. Say, 'Here's what it says and have an honest conversation, as well."

The Business Journal was among the first to bell the cat, maybe because one of its reporters saw the violence firsthand. Steve Vockrodt described one night as an "ugly scene" of 1000 "youngsters" that was "nothing less than a riot."

There were assaults, robberies, vandalism, and broken jaws. Nearby businesses closed early, and there was a lot of general mayhem. Shoppers were afraid. When police tried to step in, they were greeted with profanities and disrespect by the juveniles "every time there was an interaction."

    It's racism.

  4. Its about civil (& sometimes not so civil) disobedience. You want to control them & they don't want to be controlled. Its about how they feel about being marginalized. The racists come on here & spout genocide. How do think that makes them feel? No, they don't have to read this blog to know how you feel. They can see it in your eyes. They see the fear & loathing. It doesn't make them feel all fuzzy, wuzzy inside. You hate them & then get all self-righteous when you realize that blade cuts both ways.

Free Day at the Zoo is an insult to the poor. It reinforces their marginalization. The zoo should be free every day, not as a bone thrown to the poor, but because its an amenity.

  5. I didn't stick around for the whole show, but I was amazed by Woody's comments about Brookside and the streetcar. He said Brookside was objecting to the streetcar because of the Trolley Trail. Wrong. We're objecting to the streetcar because it is a dumb idea and will cost too much. We don't think it's a good idea for any of the proposed extensions.

Does anyone know if Woody's a lobbyist for contractors who stand to make money from the boondoggle? Usually he's against wasting taxpayer money.

    ReplyDelete
  6. They're "marginalized" by their own inaction, Byron. Just like you.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Byron shut the fuck up you idiot, backwoods, nobody! Damn.

    ReplyDelete
  8. 7:43 Woody represents the Missouri Trial Lawyers so you know the contractors are paying him thru the MTL lobby.

Byron know that we hate you too.

  11. I spent ten years in Nashville. The only friends I made were my black co-workers. The 'whites' hated me only slightly less than the blacks because of my Yankee accent. Its hard to make friends with people who refuse to speak to you. So, you see, I've been called a 'nigger lover' since 1983, by people who did not inspire me with their superiority, only their delusions of superiority.

The racists are the ones telling me to STFU. I'm not going to do that, anymore than the black youth are going to 'behave' & stay away from The Plaza. Your example of 'civility' is not very inspiring.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Who the fuck cares Byron?

Your so self absorbed with your ethnomasochistic identification, which, is just as sick, if not more than this woman here.

Just listen to what she says, and you wil get a feel for where these folks like Byron, who can only validate their personalities through self desruction must do in order to feel important.

"My white skin disgusts me. My passprt disgusts me. They are marks of an unsufferable privlege bought at the price of others agony. If I could peel myself inside out I would be glad. If I could become part of the oppressed, I would be free."

    --Robin Morgan

You stupid bitch, burn your passport, move to fucking 35th and Olive and get some gold fronts. Are you going to talk all day or pack your shit into your Escalade?

    ReplyDelete
  13. When his friend asked Thoreau why he was in jail, he could only respond, why aren't you in jail?

I choose to be poor, because poverty is freedom. I choose to not own property, because property is theft (especially in this hemisphere.) My time is my own. My time is worth more to me than $7.25 an hour.

I don't want the 'respect' of middle class puppies. Have you ever seen the middle class when they're around the truly rich? They behave exactly like puppies.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Byron why are you so caught up in KC? Is it your carnal desire for the cock of young black males ? Nobody can figure out why your so caught up in the happenings of this shit hole. Nasty ass Sheep Shagger.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Byron you snitch anyone out today ?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Byron lives a Billy Jack movie in his head on continual loop. His "Man the Barricade" heroics dictate a Death By a White American Flash Mob in the final scene, where he dies strapped to one of those creepy Easter Bunnies on the Plaza like Christ on the Cross. Perforated by Mount Blanc ball point pens in the hands of capatalist small business owners, he exsanguinates as he lookds up to the sky, screaming for Alonzo to "Forgive them, for they know not what they do."

In the final scene, on a Plaza filled with hard working, black entrepreneurs, all profits are handed over to the state to be funneled into the Kansas City School District's Science Department, where, a cure for cancer is imminent.

    Fade to BLACK.

  17. Shows you the class of people racist Negros are. Normal sane white people probably don't like Byron so he has a choice of turning to the Negroes or the Mexicans. Since Byron and the Negroes hate working and want to just sit around and do nothing all day but destroy America I am sure they get along just fine.

    ReplyDelete
  18. "The 'whites' hated me only slightly less than the blacks because of my Yankee accent."

So the blacks really hated you and the whites hated you a little less. Perhaps it was because of the stupid things you said, and not the accent you used to say them with.

You won't have to worry about the respect of middle class puppies. Or puppies of any class. I would imagine even the lower class won't allow you to claim to be in the same class as they.

  19. And stop picking your nose.

  20. Byron is the gold standard for the white progressive. He loathes himself which in turn causes him to hate his own people. Byron believes he is a victim of the greedy white capitalists. He believes all non liberal whites are inherently racist, and he breaks those whites into two sub categories....The rich one percent and the dull witted redneck working class. He wears his own poverty and failure to achieve in life like a badge of honor. Byron isn't stupid, in fact he probably has a fairly high IQ. He made a choice to be a ward of the state not because he lacks the capacity to better himself, but because he prefers to be a bitter lazy troll who lives in the shadow of his bumbling brother who despite his own shortcomings has managed to build a fairly successful life. Byron hates his life and himself, he just lacks the courage or backbone to do anything about it. Its actually sad when you think about it.

  21. Andy Kaufman's Ghost3/22/14, 10:31 AM

I think Byron is an Andy Kaufman type of performance artist/comedian and he is putting everybody on because no one human being could be that stupid and obnoxious unless it was an act.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I do not hate myself. That's absurd. The 'white' race is not 'my own people'. I belong to the human race. I reject your false black/white dichotomy.

  23. Byron you protet to much3/22/14, 10:58 AM

and yet you break everything down in racial context.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Dr Frued stuck the pin on the jackass.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Bullshit. Do you think saying, "STFU" will impress me with anything but your stupidity?

I do not break every thing down into racial context. I always break every thing down into class. You see black people, I see poor people. You hate poor people & we hate you right back!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Define poor people funky breath. So you say that Oprah is poor by your definition. Strange.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I don't hate poor people I even help real poor people who have come upon hard times. But I don't help freeloading fucks such as yourself Byron.

  28. What say you, Garbonzo??

I achieved, and without the use of my legs! The pt of the big lebowski is that that dude didn't actually achieve shit. He was a lying fraudster. So yes there's animosity towards rich white ppl who tell ppl to pick themselves up by the bootstraps (entrepreneur) when it's obvious they'd had lots handed to them in life on account of their priviledge. White progressives dislike rednecks because they pretend to not use state services even tho ny and Cali pay for those services, and they vote against their own interests in order to Allay perceived threats to their identity as white America. Rejecting medicaid expansion is so stupid even the chamber recognizes its a mistake to turn it down. To describe the call for an end to white supremacy a case of self loathing belies that u lack the mental capacity and the empathy to see a way forward without racial exploitation.i find that saddening.

  31. Last time I checked, Byron, Free Zoo Day was for ALL of the residents of Jackson and Clay counties, not just the poor ones.

I don't think you hate yourself. I think you think everyone else hates you.

I don't hate you. I do, however, think you're monumentally ignorant and unwilling to acknowledge the antipathy that some blacks have for whites. I also think you're woefully out of touch with regard to what's happening in Kansas City.

You're really not much of a chess player, either.

  32. Kansan Who Hates WV Welfare Mountaineers3/22/14, 6:53 PM

Byron is a nobody whose life sucks so bad he tries to suck us down into his personal sewer.

Those of you who think George Brett is an asshole just remember he to is from West Virginia.

Plus less percentage of blacks live in WV than in KC so stupid has little to gauge his black knowledge on.

Only 1.1% of the state's residents are foreign-born, placing WV last among the 50 states in that statistic. It has the lowest percentage of residents that speak a language other than English in the home (2.7%).

  33. How is it that Dana Wright can go on this show and behave intelligently and yet when she's on KMBZ "News" 980 she turns into a cackling twat?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Helling you asshole, the elephant in the room has nothing to do with guns. Lots of people carry firearms and don't go around causing trouble. The elephant in the room is the same elehant in the room that's destroying the Plaze and cowards like Helling don't have the balls to state what that is.
