More often than ever before, we're hearing Kansas City neighborhood denizens growing increasingly frustrated with Mayor Sly James.
At the outset of election season the Mayor has taken a hit when it comes to overall support and his handling of specific issues confronting Kansas City like the streetcar toy train, the airport and infrastructure fail i.e. snow removal.
Mayor Sly James had dominated the City Council with an alleged 70 percent approval rating but it's easy to see that his numbers are slipping in some parts of the city.
Yes, he's sitting atop a huge pile of cash but mainstream media claiming that there is no challenger to Mayor Sly is simply misinformation.
Behind the scenes we notice a member of the Berkley clan stepping up their civic profile and obviously contemplating a move against the Mayor that might be based on Kansas City's cash strapped situation.
Moreover . . .
We're still surprised that neighborhood leaders, other politicos and City Hall denizens reiterate their complaints about Mayor Sly's "win at all costs" approach to City Hall politics that often comes across like bullying.
Like it or not, bullies only understand one thing . . . Direct confrontation. And despite Mayor Sly's smile and support among this town's loudest cheerleaders. It's clear that when it comes to the airport, the streetcar and so many other longstanding Kansas City problems . . . There are more people willing to stand up to Mayor Sly.
And all this has inspired tonight's playlist.
