Walking Hazard STILL In Tower Park
A condensation line was recently installed on the antenna tower in Tower Park. The water from this line runs across the walk in the park in a couple of places and freezes this time of year creating a walking hazard.
This water could easily be run just was little way south of where it drains now and would not only stay off the walk but also would water some plants that get mighty dry in the summer.
I've previously written about this, but nothing seems to have been done about it. I have spoken to some Parks & Rec people in the park as well as a Water Dept. employee who seemed to think the line was run by KCPL. At any rate it is currently making a frozen mess across the walkway and it will probably make a soggy mess when we get warmer weather.
This line really needs to be rerouted as having it drain across the walk is inviting someone to become injured and someone (KCMO? KCPL?) being liable for their injuries.

I can't believe the people are concerned about the water tower walking traffic? Take a look at the intersection of 75th and Holmes 100 yards northeast of water tower. There is a tremendous water leak that has an entire city block traffic lane with 3" of solid ice. It has been that way for 3 consecutive days. The KCMO city and water department have done nothing to resolve the situation. It is a miracle someone is not severely hurt in a traffic accident.

ReplyDeleteUrban myth? I grew up hearing that a couple of kids climbed that tower in the 50's and drowned in there.
Not entirely an urban myth. A body was pulled out of there in the late '50s. Really sordid story. Google it.
